"The quality of work was fine, the way they handle it was not fine. They set me up for three days at Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They come in and work at Thursday and Friday night. They told me that they had a big job that they have and that they would not be back on Saturday. They delayed coming back to the following day. In order for them to do their job, I had to move all the furniture in my house away from the baseboards and way from the wall so I have rooms after rooms after rooms of furniture. Then when I talk to him, I was trying to delay a day because I had something I had to do and instead of delaying the day, they delayed it until the following Monday which was this last month. I'm just now getting to where i can put my curtains back up and everything else but the problem was they came when I was not here on Monday. They insisted on the $1500. They said they wanted an extra hundred because they moved furniture and I had agreed to the hundred if they moved furniture which they did not. When my wife pay and told them that she is not going to send a positive review, they said "I don't care"."

"This small family-operated company gave a competitive price to rip my rotted deck down to solid bones and rebuild and to install a new pergola. Original date was rained out so they put in a solid Saturday to make up for it. All demo was completed and new pressure treated lumber installed. Big difference in workmanship, these guys do a good job. They came back out Monday morning g to finish the pergola and the new steps. The site was left clean both days. Finished product is great...sturdy and attractive. I have already requested an estimate for some fence/gate work. I would work with Guerra Construction again."

The Project Coordinator at Excel listened to what I wanted and made some suggestion, but did not try a hard sell for goods or services. He explained in detail what the work crew would do and how the fence would be installed. Out of all the companies I contacted Excel was the only one to provide a written estimate. The price was reasonable and comparable to what other companies were quoting. The workers who responded to install the fence and gates were great. It was obvious they worked together in the past and were comfortable with each other. The supervisor went over everything with me before they started the job. He explained in detail what they would be doing. After the job was done the supervisor walked around the entire project with me, while explaining again what they did and answered questions. They definitely made sure I was happy with everything before they left. Another thing worth mentioning is their office and administrative staff. I made a point to stop by their office one day before the project. I believe the way an office appears and is run tells a lot about a business. Excel has a nice, clean office with very friendly and professional staff. A live person answers their phone, instead of getting an automated message, prompting you to press a number.
