"The Contractors Inc. did an amazing job on our kitchen cabinets. The whole process was very easy and inexpensive. They were able to provide a quote for us over the phone (no one had to come over and sell you stuff). When they came to install the cabinets the workers were very professional and completed the job in one day less than we thought (quoted to take 3 days but ended up taking 2). They went above and beyond by fixing one of the drawers that was sagging and installed small holders on the sides of the cupboards under the sink. Highly recommended and the whole process was smooth."

"We hired Kitchen Savers to help remodel our kitchen. After a few delays due to COVID-19, work got under way June 1st. Hasan the installer was awesome. He spent 5 days in a row with us doing demolition, resurfacing the cabinets, installing the new oven/microwave, crown molding, etc. Kitchen Savers was very professional and nicely orchestrated their subcontractors (Rock Tops for the countertops, electrician for the under cabinet lighting, plumber to install the sink and garbage disposal, etc.). We are very pleased with the workmanship and the final outcome. Even when we had an issue with one of the cabinet doors a few weeks later, Kitchen Savers sent out a workman to rehang the door with a double hinge and solved the issue free of charge. The only negative comment is that while Kitchen Savers works with subcontractors for certain things (i.e. countertops, etc.), that is where things end. So you have new cabinets and new countertops, but no backsplash. That's kind of crazy. If you want a backsplash or wall tile between the countertops and cabinets, you are on your own to fine another contractor. Likewise for flooring. This caused some issues as our floor contractor wanted to demo the floor before the cabinet work was done and we had to do a bit of juggling. It would have been nice to have one main contractor who organized and scheduled all the subs."

"KBR was terrific from start to finish. The finished work looks amazing--our living space has been transformed. No project this big is without hiccups, but the KBR team--project manager Armagan and crew leader Aldo--promptly and diligently addressed each and every concern or issue that arose along the way. Their pricing includes materials, but there are cost allowances built in and you are free to choose your own if they don't have exactly what you want in their showroom. We were particularly happy that they were able to relocate a large drain pipe that was installed awkwardly when the house was built - a complicated bit of plumbing that Aldo was able to pull off. We were so happy with their work that we hired them to do other jobs, including tiling over a fireplace. KBR was not the cheapest option, but they were considerably less expensive than many bids we received. Their work was noticeably better than the contractor we had previously hired to renovate a smaller bathroom and our kitchen."

"We had a great experience with Granite Works. We contracted our countertop work on July 28th. We feel very fortunate to have met Art. He is very professional and not a high pressure sales person.  He was more of a designer and he took us out to the slab yard helping us find slabs that matched our kitchen design and equally important budget.. We were able to use their sample cabinet materials and coordinate them with the slabs, colors, movement and patterns.  He advised us on the best cuts, edgings, care, etc. Once we selected the granite within a few minutes, Art presented us with an estimate on the spot.  We placed a 50% deposit and the next day the office assistance called us to schedule our on site template. The template process was easy and thorough. It is very helpful if you take your kitchen photos with you and your detailed measurements.  That way your estimate is accurate and Art can help you with balancing movement, appropriate area for seams, if any.  Granite works provided the granite, onsite measurements, sink options, bull nose edging and included all cut outs, plus an Angie's List discount. Our price was $2500 less than a company in  the Mt. Airy. Within a week we had a template completed, in two weeks the fabrication of 2 slabs, and the installation of occurred on  August 9th. In 1 day! We elected to forego their 4" backsplash option and we designed and installed our own. Art's design consultation was very helpful.  After we finished 1/2 the backsplash we sent Art a thank you email with a photo.  He was so surprised and we were surprised and happy 1) he remembered us, and 2) he liked our natural stone tile work.  We recommend Granite Works for quality, professionalism and price.  Good luck and thanks Angie's List. The final outcome was very good!  Getting there was not.

Morgan was my salesperson.  She changed the appointment time due to problems with babysitting.  I already knew I wanted shaker style cabinets and quartz countertops.  Morgan was pleasant and knew her product. Be aware that Morgan does not have an office e-mail address.  After several failed attempts at contacting Morgan (I only had her personal e-mail address). Stewart (the owner) answered the phone and within 20 minutes I was speaking with Morgan regarding three changes to the kitchen.  (Changes were to replace an added box from two drawers to three drawers, replace the window sill with quartz and add a valance above the sink.  We agreed on the additional cost.  I received no e-mail confirming the changes and cost.  I e-mailed Morgan and Stewart to confirm the changes and additional cost ? I also attached a file containing a picture of the valance.

Diego arrived June 1, 2014 (a week after my initial meeting with Morgan) to take measurements. 

Five weeks later (from the date I established my change orders) I called the company for an expected installation date.  Due to the changes the company sent another installer out to measure for the drawers and valance. I was given no explanation as to why it took 5 weeks to determine that new measurements were needed.  It took another two hours as the installer measured the entire kitchen again.

I was not given the specs of the new sink.  It took over a week to obtain Moe?s name and number, who was helpful in supplying the info I needed to verify that the sink the company chose was of very good quality.  Moe works for Granite and Marble Express, Inc.; the quartz installers.

Approximately 5 weeks later, I was informed the install would occur August 21, 22 and 23rd.   No one from the office provided any instructions on preparing the kitchen for the install.  Luckily I remembered Diego mentioning that all cabinets had to be emptied.  All was ready upon his arrival. 

Diego arrived timely and worked tirelessly from Thursday until late Sunday to install the available items.  His work thus far had been impeccable. Five of my cabinets could not be completed due to ordering errors.  The change to the box from 2 to 3 drawers was ignored as was the face for the valance.  No one from the company forwarded the picture to the manufacturer.

A week prior to the installation Eric (from Granite and Marble Express, Inc.) arrived to measure for the countertops and backslash.  Eric explained both the measurement and installation process.  Eric also made a few small suggestions that ultimately improved the final outcome.   

The countertops and backsplash took four days instead of two to install.  There were errors in some of the cut quartz.  The installers were sloppy and tried to pass off shoddy work.  Only the lead could speak some English.  They were polite and accommodating in making corrections once they were informed. The final outcome was great.  Word of advice; Expect to be your own general contractor on the job.

Due to the number of ordering errors, I contacted Omar (a supervisor) to request a copy of the order confirmation from the manufacturer.  I received the copy the next day.  I reviewed the measurements and found errors.  Diego arrived the next day to confirm the errors for the reorder.  I again e-mailed Omar for another copy of the manufacturer?s order confirmation and found yet another error.

Diego and Carlos arrived October 8th to complete the job.  There is a slight color variation on the white crown molding as compared to the white cabinets.  Omar called the manufacturer and verified the same paint color had been used.  Omar arrived on site to apologize for the delays and then asked that I not supply a review on Angie's list as it could impede securing future jobs.  (Doesn't this defeat the purpose of Angie's list?) 

Diego had to return Saturday to install missing hardware and the drop-down stainless steel containers in front of the sink. 

It took 4 1/2 months to complete my kitchen.  I was disappointed with the multitude of errors and delays.  I withheld the remaining payment until the job was completed.  I felt this would provide incentive to complete my kitchen.

Communication is a serious problem with this company and was the cause for the delays.

In the end, Diego provided quality work and the final outcome was exactly as I expected.
