Small jobs welcome

"You hear these horror stories of people who take your money and get back to you whenever they feel like it, but this was the complete opposite. They gave me a clear breakdown of costs, told me when they were going to start, and when they were going to be done, and did exactly what they said they would do at exactly the budget they said they'd do it at. I honestly had no idea how they were going to demolish a shed, move a couple of trees, set up a retaining wall, and re-create my front and back lawns in, like, a week. But they did, and it turned out wonderfully."

"ENTECH did an oil tank removal for me which is a multi step process with the town and EPA and heavy equipment. It was buried in my front lawn with plantings all around it and oil left in the tank. In the middle, covid 19 shut down the procedure for two months. They handled all the paperwork and headaches. They couldn t have done a more professional job. They did a perfect job of staging the excavation so there was no damage to lawn and plantings. They handled all the delays, rescheduling, and paperwork. They kept their very fair price. I think ENTECH is probably the best contractor I ever hired."

"We hired Zacarias to replace a very worn out gravel path in need of replacement with pavers. Rony was very helpful with the planning phase in listening to our needs and developing a quality project that incorporated what we wanted. The crew worked hard and in inclement weather to get the job done as discussed and planned. There was an issue that was due to a miscommunication with a contractor working on another project that abutted the path and Rony addressed the issue and made it right. We love the path and the costs were all clearly presented up front along with a very detailed plan for the work. The grass seed they planted which was a bonus they added in has grown some great grass, and the lighting they installed makes a huge difference."

"Kevin came out same day and was able to fix problem quickly! He went above and beyond to answer questions and provide suggestions. Very kind and very fair pricing. My neighbor saw his truck and asked him to look at their AC system. He answered their questions and provided quotes without cost."

"Davis and Sons completed a number of challenging projects for my wife and I. First, David Davis completed the trench work for installing an undeground electric utility that required him working closely with the municipal wiring inspector and my electrician. He also installed a large, steel rebar reinforced retaining wall in our backyard -- which was a tight space to maneuver. Davis also built us a very attractive concrete driveway and supporting L-shaped wall to replace a rotten, wood timber wall on the front of our house. Many of our neighbors have commented on the attractive retaining wall and driveway David Davis built for us."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

A trench that is less than 5 feet deep often doesn't require a protective system. Most residential trenches will not go this deep (the typical residential drainage trench is just 18 inches deep). In the event that an excavator needs to dig more than 5 feet beneath the surface, a protective system is required unless the excavation is in entirely stable rock.

The best type of soil to build on is a mixture of sand and clay, known as loam soil. Loam soil has the best combination of these soil types to build a foundation on. The clay particles help with water retention, so it won’t erode like sandy soil might, and the sandy particles help with drainage, so you won’t see unsafe soil expansion or have an increased risk of leaks from water sitting against your foundation.

Almost any kind of home can have a wine cellar or cabinet installed. You’ll need an area where a concrete floor can be put in, along with the necessary insulation, climate control, and ventilation systems. If you think of yourself as an aspiring sommelier, an underground wine cellar may be ideal, but it will cost significantly more.

What you choose to install really depends on your budget and how many bottles you’re looking to store.

Most professional excavation teams will charge between $8 and $15 per cubic yard. Calculate the cost by finding the volume of your pool—width x length x depth—and dividing it by 27. Then, multiply the price by the cubic yards from your equation. Budget for complications like a rocky lawn, hard-to-access pool area, or high local labor prices.

The rules and regulations regarding groundwater use vary between states. To find out if you can dig a well on your property, you’ll have to consult these regulations, address any compliance requirements, and get the appropriate permits. It’s also important to check that your intended location has the right geology and water table to support a well.
