Modern advances in setting materials, grouts, waterproofing, and tile composition demand that artisans like myself keep up with the times. 25% of my clients require recently installed work to be torn out and replaced should certainly indicate that not all tile installers are created equal. I may not be the cheapest option, but my work - done correctly and always to manufacturer specs - will always cost less than paying for the installation twice. I do a lot of work with - and am referred frequently by - a major local tile distributor (a credential few installers can claim). This allows me to get my customers great discounts on premium tile, often matching pricing on the "seconds" big box retailers offer.
