Customers say: Quick response

"We needed to complete our bathroom renovation and we were over our heads. I put out inquiries for help and before I had a chance to respond, this young man called Me to take a look at the job. I was stunned. I had called other "Professionals" who wouldn't give me the time of day. Ryan arrived the same day. Said he could do the work and what it would cost and when he could start. I was impressed when the team arrived early, assessed what needed to be done and jumped right in. To say that we were pleased with the results would be a gross understatement. We were ecstatic. The laminate floor was a sight to behold. A new functioning toilet sat proudly. A new door was installed, with knob. And, it was completed in half of the time stated. These young men are knowledgeable, hard working and extremely polite. I have no doubt that their professionalism is worth twice the cost. We wish them well and have already shared our good fortune with neighbors."

"These guys did a remarkable job. They put in a full days work to make a pool deck that had long been neglected look like new again! I highly recommend them to anyone that needs power washing. They did not miss a spot! Really nice guys, hard workers, very respectful!"

Small jobs welcome

"Adam, from Sidewinder, was willing to come from a relatively far distance to do this job. He was able to efficiently evaluate the problem, and hire the appropriate parts to complete the project. I found him to be knowledgeable, easy to work with, reliable, and reasonably priced."

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can hang picture frames, shelves, and other items on Trusscore panels. For lightweight items (less than 30 pounds), the company recommends using adhesive strips rather than nails or screws. However, you’ll need to secure heavier objects to a stud in the wall. In these situations, Trusscore recommends cutting away the panel material and fastening the object to the stud with metal hardware.

There are a variety of second-story deck privacy ideas depending on your budget and aesthetic. For starters, you might consider fencing or tall privacy railing that masks a good portion of the open deck. A pergola or an awning can provide additional cover and shade. Outdoor curtains are an easy way to add or remove privacy at your convenience, plus they’re a wallet-friendly way to decorate your deck.

House framing can be expensive because the materials are pricey, and the job requires a high level of expertise. The more complex the plans, the more expensive the job, but even the most basic frame needs to be installed with high-quality materials and precision. When pricing your home’s framework, remember that a sturdy frame is necessary to create a safe structure.

You should avoid drilling or cutting into load-bearing beams because removing material will weaken it and increase the risk of structural damage or even collapse. If you do need to drill into a load-bearing beam, speak with a structural engineer first to discuss where it’s safest to drill and the width and depth of the bit that’s safe to use.

When deciding if you should use 2x6 or 2x8 deck joists, consider the size of the deck, joist spacing, and materials. Larger decks, larger-spaced joists, and weaker wood all require more support, meaning they need larger joists. For example, 2x8 redwood joists spaced 16 inches apart can only safely span up to 10 feet and 7 inches. On the other hand, 2x10 southern pine joists spaced 12 inches apart can be as big as 16 feet and 2 inches. If you aren’t sure what size joist is best for your project, speak with your deck builder.
