"Starling and his fabulous company have been our landscapers since the fall of 2023 when our work schedules prevented us from keeping up with our yard work. We came to Angi's List and got call backs from several people, but Starling was the only one who came to the house. We were very pleased with the end result and had him come back for a spring clean up. We then let him take over our lawn care plus help with fixing our front beds that needed some TLC. We highly recommend him, and as a matter of fact his crew were just here yesterday starting the spring clean up. Starling is very professional, friendly and always easy to get a hold of when we have a question about something. He spent hours with us picking out shrubs and plants and never made us feel rushed. His crew are very friendly and take great care of our yard. We are so pleased that he showed up to our house on that late fall day!"

"I hired Tavarez to do a full-yard leaf clearing. I contacted them 2 days before an incoming snow storm. Despite having multiple other jobs they worked through the weekend and were able to finish the job hours before the storm. The work crew was very courteous. They did an extremely thorough job. I was pleasantly surprised with a very reasonable price for the job. Other services have charged me more for the same job. I could not be more pleased with my experience and plan to use Tavarez in the future."

"Rafael and his crew did an outstanding job getting our yard ready for the winter. The yard is spotless, they trimmed plants, even cut grass that we hadn’t asked them to do. Fast, very efficient, and good people to work with."

"They did a great job. The grounds around my building had become overgrown with weeds. They cleared it all out very thoroughly and removed all the yard waste."

Customers say: Quick response

"I hired William to do some landscaping work, removed old shrubs, adding loam, and shrub planting. William is a careful listener, making sure he knows what you want, and then executes. He finished everything in a timely manner. He is real nice to guy as well! I would highly recommend William to a family member as well as anyone on home advisor. I mean that very sincerely."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Professional lead-paint abatement companies use a variety of methods to remove lead-based paint, depending on each particular situation. Some of the most common methods include:

  • Total removal: $8–$17 per square foot

  • Demolition and replacement: $1,000–$15,000 per project

  • Encapsulation: $4 per square foot

  • Enclosure: $10 per square foot

  • Chemical stripping: $10–$17 per square foot

While not all homes built before 1978 contain lead paint, enough do, so you’ll still want to test to be on the safe side. The federal government banned lead-based paint for homes in 1978, but your state may have banned lead before that time. Around 24% of homes built between 1960 and 1977 contained lead-based paint, while 87% of homes built before 1940 contained lead-based paint.

You can paint over lead paint, or “encapsulate” it with a special paint that includes an ingredient called an encapsulant. The EPA approves encapsulation as a lead paint removal method as long as the paint remains undisturbed. Standard types of paint without an “encapsulant” from the big box stores or hardware stores do not meet EPA standards for remediation of lead-based paint.

The best disposal method for hazardous waste is to take it to a professional dumping facility that specializes in and accepts hazardous materials. These facilities will dispose of the materials in a way that is safe for both humans and the environment. If you don’t have access to a nearby facility, the best way to get rid of hazardous waste is to call a professional garbage removal company who handles disposing of hazardous materials .

Lead toxicity comes from inhaling lead or consuming it. Before the 1980s, when the government banned lead from consumer use, it could be found in paint, plumbing, pipes, ceramics, and even gasoline. Lead paint is toxic for the same reason lead itself is toxic, which is why lead poisoning from paint presents the same as lead poisoning from water or food sources, with a slight increase in respiratory symptoms vs. digestive symptoms. Lead paint is most dangerous when it’s old and peeling, cracking, or otherwise disturbed. This increases the concentration in the air and, therefore, in breathable air.
