"I really wanted to appreciate what the 3 very sweet and friendly ladies accomplished, but the "deep cleaning" that I was hoping for did not take place. After they left, I noticed: -hair and dirt on the hardwood floor -dust and grime on the baseboards -babyfood on the wall behind the high chairs -pieces of dirt and hair on the baby mat -old dirt and formula residue behind the cribs in the nursery -built up dust on the wires next to the television -stovetop was still stained with grease - no attention paid to windows -general dirt build up in corners of rooms"

"When I called Masters Carpet Care I got an appointment right away along with an explanation of what they would do. They were friendly, professional, and respectful. They cleaned my stairs and floor carpeting which was pet stained. The amount of dirt they removed was shocking. The price was absolutely reasonable and I definitely plan on using them again. I highly recommend Masters Carpet Care!"

"Jacqueline was AMAZING. I originally got an Angie’s List deal from another company and had them come in to do a cleaning, and I thought they did an ok job. However, I when I booked them I told them I’d want them to come back weekly until the house sold...getting them to respond and schedule the next week was a nightmare, so I gave up. The experience with Jackie of TopLine has been the complete opposite end of the spectrum. From the initial contact with Angie’s List, through to her helping me clean after moving out, she been amazing. I think I initially emailed her through Angie’s List on a Sunday, and she emailed me right back. We talked on the phone so I could tell her exactly what I needed, and she stopped by later that day to see my house and give me a free quote. We scheduled her to come for the first cleaning that week, and she did a phenomenal job — she cleaned stuff the other cleaners missed, which I didn’t catch until I saw her doing it. After that, she came weekly until my house sold. She even came back the night the movers took everything out of the house and cleaned the floors, cabinets, etc. The house looked spotless and my real estate agent was so impressed, she scheduled her to do work for her other clients. I highly recommend Jackie and TopLine!"

"Eric came soon after we called to give us an estimate and scheduled us based on a timeframe we requested a few weeks out. During that time he got busy so he called ahead and asked if we could push it back a week which was fine with us. Since it was a white wash he put down the stain and had us come check it out before he applied the poly. It was gorgeous! We are so happy with the finished product - the floors are the star of house! I would definitely worth with Viking again!"

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

If you’re cleaning or repairing laminate floors, avoid anything abrasive like heavy-grit sandpaper or steel wool. Because the image layer is protected by a topcoat, the image layer is more vulnerable to scratches and damage if the topcoat is damaged. And if the image layer is scratched, it can reveal the wood fiber core.

Yes, you can polish an existing concrete floor—as long as the slab is structurally sound and in good shape. In fact, that’s what makes this type of flooring upgrade so appealing. Polishing works best on bare concrete with minimal surface damage, although you can usually repair cracks and stains before the grinding and buffing begins. Instead of ripping out your existing concrete floor, polishing it can turn it into a high-shine showpiece that’s both practical and sleek.

Commonly used in garages, epoxy is a synthetic resin coating that goes over the top of concrete surfaces. If you’re deciding between polished concrete and epoxy flooring, the best choice depends on your needs and personal preference. Epoxy is durable and highly customizable, while polished concrete tends to require less maintenance. They’re both long-lasting with similar price points, and professional installation is recommended for each.

Polishing a concrete floor isn’t as expensive as it sounds—it’s actually one of the more budget-friendly upscale flooring options out there. On average, it costs $4,500, with most projects falling between $1,000 and $8,000 . When you’re working with an existing slab of concrete, you skip material costs entirely, so it’s even more affordable. If you want a glossy, durable floor without paying hardwood or tile prices, polished concrete delivers serious shine without the sticker shock.

You can use dish soap mixed with warm water to clean just about any type of flooring, and while vinegar is a great addition to some floor cleaners, it’s not a good idea to use it on wood flooring or engineered wood flooring. Vinegar is very acidic, and it can gradually eat away at the protective finish on wood floors. If you’re cleaning laminate, tile, concrete, or vinyl floors, feel free to use vinegar and water in a 1-to-1 ratio with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, substitute the vinegar for olive oil.
