"After months of hemming and hawing and getting quotes, I finally went with Hollywood Junk to haul away my old washer and dryer. I m so glad I did! They gave me the best price and could do it the next day. Then when the weather started looking bad, they contacted me and came to get them early - the same day I called. I was able to get my car in the garage before the snow came. Steve was super nice and professional. I would use this company again in a heartbeat."

"I hired Welliz Contractors to prepare my rental property in Melrose after a tenant move-out. They handled painting, cleaning, and a variety of repairs throughout the unit. The work was completed professionally and on schedule, and the attention to detail was impressive. The apartment looked refreshed and move-in ready when they finished. Communication was excellent throughout the project, they were reliable, and the pricing was fair. As a property owner, it’s important to have contractors you can trust, and Welliz Contractors delivered quality work with no hassle. I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for dependable painting, repair, and cleaning services."

Hauling questions, answered by experts

To clean an estate, start by locating all important documents, which you’ll need to sort through. Have the mail forwarded, change the locks, and take inventory of the entire estate. Once you know what you’re dealing with, create a plan and a timeline for the cleanout. Start clearing out rooms and sorting items to donate, sell, or get rid of. Finally, deep clean the property.

It’s often not necessary to clean up rocks before you sell or donate them, although it’s a nice gesture. Cleaning the rocks you’re getting rid of probably isn’t worthwhile if you’re selling a large volume of small rocks, but if you’re selling or donating large boulders for landscape design, a quick clean might fetch more money or help out the donation center.

The average cost of appliance removal is around $75 per appliance, but you could pay anywhere from $25 to $150, depending on a few factors. Some things that have an impact on the cost of appliance removal include the following:

  • Size of your appliance, with larger items costing more to haul away

  • Number of doorways or stairways the removal specialists need to navigate around

  • Distance from a proper dumping site

  • Presence of water lines or gas lines that need to be disconnected during removal

When packing up to move, you should consider donating items to charity and purging as many unused or unwanted belongings as possible. It may seem time-consuming, but you’ll thank yourself later when you’ve saved money because you didn’t need the largest moving truck and fewer boxes.

No, you can’t throw anything in a dumpster. For example, organic waste should not be thrown in a dumpster. While you can throw recyclable materials in a dumpster, it is encouraged to separate them and properly recycle them for the sake of the environment.
