Every detail needs to be called out even drilling holes, as I learned, is expensive. You will need to be thick skinned as well as I was insulted several times but I just wanted the job to be over."

We were skeptical at first because most other contractors we have worked with over promise and under perform, as well as do not return phone calls / emails. Not Mike. For our kitchen project, he went out of his way to insure every piece of the project was finished and passed his own QC (which in many cases was more stringent than our own QC). He came up with a few ideas that really made the project shine (like the addition of an archway to separate two ceiling heights).
