"Jorge responded immediately to my request for an estimate on lots of weed removal and several shrubs to be removed. His estimate was reasonable and we decided to go ahead with the project. With the amount of weeds we had I thought that the job would take at least 1/2 day. Jorge arrived with a two man crew and they tackled the job. Within two hours all weeds and several shrubs had been removed and everything was cleaned up and taken away. Jorge and his guys were very polite and did not waste any time in doing this job! We were quite happy with the result and are going to use Jorge for more projects. I am so glad that I went with my gut feeling and hired Jorge to take care of a job that I thought was overwhelming."

"I first used H&H in November 2017 when I bought a deal for fall cleanup. Upon initial contact with Justin Hansen I was very impressed with his maturity and business acumen. He has become my "Go To Guy" for all things related to my yard - he's the first call I make. He's also very honest if he feels the scope is outside of his comfort zone. He and his crew have brought my property back to its former glory. In addition to landscaping I have also started using him for snow removal. If I could only use one word to describe Justin as a business owner it would be "impressive" - I am very impressed that he invests in and maintains his equipment in pristine condition and also invests in his education to stay at the top of his game."

"We had a large pile of Beulah disposal. Pablo showed up when he said he would, removed the brush, and raked the area. He was professional and we would ue them again."

"Had Henry remove a 12-15 inch thick 5x5 slab of concrete that needed to be removed. He showed up very quickly and knocked it out in a few hours with cleanup and haul away. Very professional and keeps you updated the whole time. Highly recommend."

"Angies list matches me up with a snow plow service so far away from where I live that it was useless to contact them. A guest List use to be a great service. Not so much anymore"

"The quality of work completed was good given the amount of snow. Timing of work completed was not consistent. I was never quite sure if they were coming back to complete another round and many times I ended up having to shovel my own walkway and steps. And, then they would show up at 7PM (too late). Workers were a little unclear as to what was included in our snow removal contract. Sometimes not all the work was completed. My guess is that any snow removal company would have had similar issues based on the volume and frequency of snow this past year."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

The process to winterize your landscaping depends on the plants you have, but generally speaking, you should rake your lawn to avoid leaves from smothering your grass and leading to mold and fungi growth, wrap young trees to protect from fluctuating temperatures, and fertilize your lawn to provide some nutrients for the grass through the colder temperatures. You can also consider marking off small trees and shrubs to avoid accidentally damaging them with snow removal tools.

Clearing snow from your roof can be a tedious and time-consuming job. Even so, it is extremely important to maintain your roof during the winter months. You can help prevent ice dams and avoid roof collapse.

As a side note, rather than shoveling your roof, you should always use a roof rake to modify the job. Otherwise, call in a professional.

The fastest and most effective way to remove snow, especially from a driveway, is by using a high-powered, two- or three-stage snow blower, which can clear an area in minutes. Other helpful options include a snow thrower, a wheelbarrow plow, and a leaf blower. If you need immediate assistance, consider hiring a professional snow removal service to handle the job for you.

Yes, most states require that snow removal companies be insured under workers' compensation. This protects the employees financially if an injury were to happen (and when dealing with ice and snow, it’s possible that injury could occur). In addition, most states require snow removal companies to be covered under general liability, which would help cover the cost of any property damage incurred during the removal process.

When starting the engine, you typically leave the choke on a snowblower in the "choke" or "closed" position. After starting, let the engine run for a few minutes to warm up. Then, gradually open the choke, moving it to the "open" or "run" position, allowing more air into the engine and transitioning to a normal fuel-air mixture. The exact duration varies based on the snowblower model and ambient temperature, but as a general rule, you should open the choke once the engine has stabilized and runs smoothly, typically within a few minutes.
