"Aviksis Plumbing is absolutely the BEST! I called them after starting with another plumber who started the job and then went AWOL once the work required breaking into the ceiling. Mr. Aviksis fit me in quickly to assess the issue and then came back to fix the problem. He ultimately had to return a couple of times in order to fix the pipe. Despite this, he stood by the initial price quoted even when I enquired about paying him more. I was highly impressed and will be using Aviksis from now on for all my plumbing needs."

"Your company is outstanding and we are extremely happy. Our technician Garett was prompt and polite. He was very knowledgeable and explained things about our situation that we were totally unaware of. Potentially saving us time and money down the road. Garrett was attentive to our to our needs and was very careful of our pets as he was working. We would definitely use Beacon Drain Service again."

Customers say: Quality work

"It went swimmingly. Petros was responsive, had me send him photos of the faucet in question so he could tell how old it was. He warned me that he might not be able to fix it because it was really old, so it could turn into a larger job. I was told the same by another plumber, so I knew the deal. The reason I chose Petros over the other company was because he said he'd try to fix it before resorting to the Big Job, which would have cost over $1,000. And he did it! He totally fixed it and was a delight while he did so. Wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. Highly recommended."

"David Ladd is good. He worked efficiently and was a pleasure to work with, but I need to change my review. I wanted new kitchen faucets and for him to take out my garbage disposal. He installed the faucets and found that there was a defect in the faucet product, so he came back the very next day, with a new faucet product, took out the defected one and installed the new one. I am updating my review because since the time he has done the work a couple of months ago, I called him several times to fix the faucet in my bathtub, but he never returned my call. Then last Sunday, I called him because the piping that he did fix for me under my sink came apart from the drain and water was all over my kitchen floor. I called him to ask him to call me because I wanted him to fix it since he was the one that did the work in the first place, and I could not use my sink. To this day, a week later, David has never returned my call! I had to hire someone else to come and fix it and now I am spending more money to do something that he should have came back and taken care of in the first place. I am really disappointed in him because I thought he was nice and seemed to care about his work. I mean, even if he was busy, he could still at least give me the courtesy of a return phone call. I am so sorry but I feel that I have to change my rating due to this."

French Drains questions, answered by experts

If you drop jewelry down your sink, it can cause a clog, especially if it accumulates other debris on its way down. However, that is the least of your worries if you drop your favorite jewelry down your drain. If your gold band goes tumbling down the sink drain, don’t panic—refrain from running more water down the sink, and follow the steps above.

You’ll likely pay between $300 and $450 to unclog your toilet with Roto-Rooter. However, the price could change depending on if the clog has caused a lot of damage, which your plumbing pro will want to inspect during your service appointment. Keep in mind that you won’t get a quote from Roto-Rooter over the phone. They have to send a pro out for an in-person cost estimate. You can also attempt to snake your own clog for a lot less, and simple drain snakes cost no more than $50.

Yes, sewage smells can originate from a floor drain. If the P-Trap in the floor drain dries out or if there's a clog or other issue in the plumbing system, sewer gasses can escape through the drain, causing nasty odors. Regularly pouring water into the drain helps maintain the water seal and prevent those smells, but if the smell persists, you should have a plumbing professional inspect the drain for potential problems.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.

Yes, pop-up drains commonly get clogged with hair, soap scum, and toothpaste. It is important to know how to properly clean the drain or get professional help to ensure it remains clear and can drain water effectively.
