"The company contacted me right away, came within a day to do the estimate, and explained the whole process, pros and cons of each type of insulation and provided a quote within a day. They showed up on the 1st day scheduled, worked (in extremely hot and humid conditions), were polite, professional and helpful. The job was completed on time. The job site was cleaned up at the end of each day. During one slight change in schedule, the vendor kept me informed of the changes and still completed the job on time. It was a good experience with this company and I would recommend them to others."
"Bob did an incredible job installing my new patio door. Very dependable and professional. Looking forward to working with him again on future projects. Would highly recommend!!"
"Had two exterior doors installed by Beantown Home Improvements. They showed up on the day promised but it was too cold to install the doors so they double checked measurements, stored the new doors under my deck and wrapped them in plastic. Returned a few days later and were able to install the new doors. Installation went flawlessly and they did a good job cleaning up. Jarred suggested using pvc trim, glad he recommended it. Doors look great and seal quite well just in time for winter. I will certainly use them again on my next home improvement project and would without hesitation recommend their services."
"Bill came out and talked to us about different options for our insulation project. He was very knowledgeable and honest with us about the pros and cons of different types of insulation, and was willing to communicate and coordinate with the fellow who'd just installed our roof. He was also one of only a couple of providers that offered rigid board + cellulose, and his bid was wayyyyyyy lower than the other outfit's. We ended up going with a different solution through a company that a friend recommended, but McLaughlin was our runner-up bid. Showed up on time, submitted a bid quickly, and followed up. Very professional, would definitely recommend."
"Doug and his crew did a fantastic job. Showed up when he said he would. Had great pricing and was not satisfied with the project until we were. They installed more than 1500 sq ft of floor tile, granite steps and did a bathroom with 5 ft tiled shower. We will have him back to do the next section of our house. Do not hesitate to hire Doug and his crew."

"Power Construction installed vinyl siding on our home in Andover, MA, and we couldn’t be happier. From the first visit, Manuel was informative and never pushy—he even suggested ways to save money. With a toddler at home, we appreciated his punctuality and efficiency, especially compared to other reps. Their quote was the best mix of cost, quality, and commitment.
The install team—Eddy, Luis, and others—was outstanding. They finished the job in 5 days, without cutting corners. The site was cleaned daily, and they even hunted down every stray nail. They fixed every small imperfection we pointed out and went above and beyond, including painting our door and straightening out structural tilts.
Even months later, they returned to fix a minor issue I noticed. Their in-house electrician Mario was excellent too. Danielle in the office made scheduling and payments easy. They took full responsibility when small issues arose, and that’s rare. Highly recommend Power Const"
"Evolution Siding did a recent replacement siding project for us at our house. Brandon and his crew were excellent. Even though our project was small, Brandon did everything we asked for in a timely manner. His work was very detailed and he did not waste any materials. His pricing was very competitive and they cleaned up at the end of both days. Brandon was great to deal with and communicated well. I would highly recommend Brandon, his crew, and Evolution Siding for your next project."
"Golden Group removed old roof shingles and installed newshingles including Ice&Water barrier. It was about 3200 SF of roofing. Additionally, they fixed our vinyl siding replacing about 15 sq.yards of discolored siding with new one. Starting with very professional presentation by Freddy (owner) and excellent quote, the Golden Group took advantage of early warm days in March. They arrived promptly at 7am (including dumpster) in full force of about 10 people. Perectly organized and working as a team they quickly removed old shingles, protecting the house and surroundings with large tarps (no damage anywhere whatsoever). Then they installed Ice$Water barrier on most of the roof. Finally they installed new beautiful shingles, perfectly and very precisely. At the end they jumped on our siding repairs, finishing pretty much everything by 5pm in a single day! They cleaned everything around the house. Amazing job. Money well spent!"
"I canâ t say enough about the company. From the first consultation throughout the installation we always knew what was going on. I knew this was the company for us right from the start, the owner came to our home armed with many samples that others didnâ t bring with them. The professionalism from the onset is what separated them from the rest. Donâ t look any further this is the company you want. I would highly recommend."
Yes, you absolutely need a permit to add a window to your house. Your contractor can likely obtain this permit on your behalf. Ask about this when getting quotes from multiple window contractors.
The primary benefits of an egress window include providing a safe emergency exit, increasing natural light in a space like a basement, and improving ventilation. Additionally, installing an egress window can often increase your property's value.
New window installation costs range from $300 to $1,500 per window, depending on size, material, and energy efficiency features.
Installing a window well costs anywhere from $500 to $1,500 or more. Adding an egress window and well runs about $3,900 on average. Adding a window well cover to the project can add $200 to $700. A well cover helps protect your egress windows from weather damage and keeps them clear of dirt, debris, and wildlife.
Finding a reputable contractor for an egress window installation involves researching and vetting potential candidates. Start by searching for local professionals, reading customer reviews, and checking their websites for a portfolio of their work.
Once you have a shortlist, ask the following questions to ensure they are qualified:
• Are you licensed and insured?
• What experience do you have installing egress windows?
• Can you provide references from previous customers?
• Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors?
• What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule?
• How do you handle payment?
