"Mo built this custom shed door from scratch, stained it and installed it all in one day! He’s a great guy and gave me an awesome price. Looking forward to bringing him back for more projects and recommending him to my neighbors."

"Bertie was recommended to us by a friend for some work that he completed in Jamaica Plain. We recently built a 2nd floor on our cape in Milton and needed walls and ceilings in three bedrooms, a bathroom, and a hallway and stairwell. Bertie was prompt with his bid and was extremely flexible with his start date. He was finished with the entire job in less than four days, which was incredibly impressive. In addition, part of the demolition included tearing down two walls on the first floor and a strip of drywall by the front door. Without asking, Bertie fixed those as well and included them in the price. Furthermore, we are installing a pocket door and need to wait for that before drywall goes up, plus our plumber needs access to the shower before the durock goes up, and Bertie has already committed to helping us with those issues as soon as they are ready. I would absolutely hire Bertie again in a second if the need ever arises again."

Customers say: Quality work

"Wafi is amazing! He is extremely knowledgeable about a wide variety of home repair, and other servicing needs, and has been specifically knowledgeable in the care of our renovated 1850s brownstone. He has fixed our multi level air conditioning system, performed a large chandelier installation, and other structural/electrical tasks, and done multiple plumbing jobs with great expertise. He is also extremely kind and reliable, and I would interest him with anything in my home!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

There aren’t many problems with fire doors except that they slow down or cut off ventilation at the higher rating levels. For this reason, work with a professional to ensure you have adequate ventilation throughout your house or workspace. The sealing around a fire door is meant to allow for a specific amount of ventilation and will need regular inspections to ensure adequate airflow.

Regular and professional chimney cleaning offers several key benefits. It prevents dangerous fire hazards by removing flammable creosote buildup, improves airflow and heating efficiency, ensures the safe venting of smoke and harmful gases, and can help you stay in compliance with local safety codes.

Yes, a chimney damper is necessary. It controls airflow in and out of your fireplace, helping to retain heat when closed and allowing smoke to escape when open. Without a damper, your home could lose warmth during cold months, leading to higher energy bills. It also helps prevent downdrafts and keeps animals or debris from entering the chimney. In short, it’s essential for efficiency and safety.

Yes, a water leak poses a major fire risk at your home because water is a conductor of electricity. Water that comes into contact with sparks or electrical wires can instantly ignite flammable materials. Additionally, any type of exposure to water can cause wires and other electrical components within your home to corrode. When assessing categories of water damage, it's important to know that even a small amount of moisture near wiring could cause sparks that lead to a fire.

No material is genuinely fireproof, so there’s no genuinely fireproof safe. Any material would break down if exposed to a hot enough temperature for long enough. That said, safes can withstand certain house fires. Manufacturers use the term “fireproof” synonymously with “fire resistant.”
