"I had a great experience with Global roofing. Fredy was quick to get back to me to set up a time to meet and assess the issue. He was very easy to communicate with throughout the process. The job was completed in one day and they cleaned up thoroughly. I would highly recommend Global roofing and will use them again in the future."

Small jobs welcome

"They did the work that they recommended for 2 places on the roof that were leaking and replaced a piece of trim. They were efficient and came on time and completely the work quickly, with in a couple of hours. They also gave me photos so I could show this to my insurance. I appreciated them resolving any issues or problems that popped up during the process. I will do business again with them and do recommend them. B. Findlay"

"I recognized this past fall that my cedar shake roof needed to be replaced. After getting input for the replacement roof options and quotes from five different roofing companies I selected Muto Construction. We selected the Cedur type artificial shake roof and contracted the work agreement. Pricing was right in line with other quotes. Muto showed up on the very day that was scheduled months in advance and finished the work ahead of schedule. All the employees were very professional, courteous and friendly, and I was amazed at the work ethic in the way they accomplished their work. They went out of the way to ensure I was satisfied with the end result and conscientious with the cleanup. The roof looks great and I highly recommend this company to all others."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

A roof can collapse from a leak if the leak is left unattended long enough. A collapse will happen when the structural components of your roof become saturated with water over time. The roof deck or rafters can slowly weaken until they can no longer support the weight of your roof.

You can replace a roof in the winter, though it’s not the most popular time to do so. The biggest drawback of winter roofing work is the weather. Snow and ice make for dangerous, slippery working conditions. Plus, shingles can only be installed in temperatures above 40 to 45 degrees.

The best time to replace a roof is in the spring or fall when the weather is mild. However, you can likely save some money by booking the job in the winter off-season, when roofers have more availability.

The average cost to winterize a house is about $250, but it can range from $65 to $1,000 depending on the type of work that needs to be done. For homeowners that are experienced DIYers, it can save quite a bit on costs. However, you shouldn’t attempt tasks you aren’t familiar with or are potentially dangerous.

The best style of chimney cap for a brick chimney is one that fits tightly around the brick top of the chimney. The cap should have a screen to fully enclose it to keep animals out. The best materials include stainless steel, copper, or aluminum that fit tightly or are custom fabricated for a perfect fit on your chimney.

Some homes, like those with flat roofs, may not have eaves at all. Some contemporary-style homes also lack eaves, although many may have abbreviated eaves to divert water and protect the walls and foundation. Homes without eaves often have specific types of gutters affixed directly to the edge of the roof to provide adequate drainage.
