Mike works hard at getting things done, and teaches the younger crew very well. He is structured and trustworthy. He also was patient answering my questions (I always have too many..!). Brian pays great attention to detail! I was impressed by how good the tile work looks, and also how good the finishing of the decking to the landing looks like, which he did. They also had to partly redo the patio, and it looks better than before."

"Richard is a wonderful person to work with. Great communication and very easy going. He knows his stuff! He was able to accomodate the design needed for additions in my 1949 Cape Cod style home, as well as redesign on the interior. He lived more than an hour away, but was willing to travel out to my home for measurements! This was a huge plus. He was able to coordinate the printing of blueprints, so I could pay for them and have them sent to my home, since he lived a distance away. I would highly recommend him to anyone, in need of an architect, for a project, on an older home. He was such a pleasure to work with!"

"Working with Bob Phalan is great. He is very communicative and responsive. He clearly takes his work very seriously and cares a great deal about the final product and how your house looks. Bob worked on our project for several days, including through the weekend. He was always able to explain what he was doing and why. Our front door is apparently a weird size and he was able to figure out a way to get our storm door installed and looking really nice despite the somewhat odd measurements. He didn't just apply one coat to the front door. He analyzed the door to figure out what type of wood it was, sanded it down, applied primer, and then did the final paint and it looks very good. I will absolutely contact Bob Phalan again for projects around the house. He is very knowledgeable, reliable, hardworking, and capable."

"Very well.  I acted as general contractor after my builder disappeared in the middle of the job.  I had some good contractors and some not so good ones.  HS Plastering and Painting was at the top of the good list.  The quality of their work was very good; no complaints there at all.  But what stood out was the experience of working with them.  They came when asked, did what they were asked to do, acted in a professional manner, stood by their work, and were a true pleasure to have as a contractor.  They were quick, worked weekends to get the job done, and didn't cut corners.  
In fact, my realtor liked them so much that she asked for their contact information for other houses that she works on.

"Marco was a true professional. He did a wonderful job. He used the best materials ( I was told by another builder), finished on time, and left the job site clean. After the initial estimate when I made the commitment to use him, the beams were exposed, and the scope of the project changed. There was much more work to be done, and he still managed to work in the time frame and do a wonderful job."

"Bertie was recommended to us by a friend for some work that he completed in Jamaica Plain. We recently built a 2nd floor on our cape in Milton and needed walls and ceilings in three bedrooms, a bathroom, and a hallway and stairwell. Bertie was prompt with his bid and was extremely flexible with his start date. He was finished with the entire job in less than four days, which was incredibly impressive. In addition, part of the demolition included tearing down two walls on the first floor and a strip of drywall by the front door. Without asking, Bertie fixed those as well and included them in the price. Furthermore, we are installing a pocket door and need to wait for that before drywall goes up, plus our plumber needs access to the shower before the durock goes up, and Bertie has already committed to helping us with those issues as soon as they are ready. I would absolutely hire Bertie again in a second if the need ever arises again."
