Excellent! They were great, they always arrive exactly on time, they did the work exactly as they said, they cleaned up and great people to work with.

North Shore Builders used PVC framing and trim materials (definitely more expensive to use these materials, but they will last much longer than wood). Once the framing was complete and the windows were weather-tight, they shingled around both, using cedar shingles. Towards the end of the job, I asked Mark if he would replace a 2' section of facia/soffit that was also rotted, in addition to the work we had originally agreed upon. His workman quickly completed that & Mark was kind enough not to add any additional cost to my final price. The entire job was completed in a reasonable amount of time (over the course of a week or so -- I wasn't in a rush & he had workers doing several other jobs at the time, as well). The quality of the work was excellent. The worker(s) cleaned up after themselves each day & conducted themselves in a professional manner. Although the cost of the work was a bit on the high end when I priced the job out, I didn't regret paying it; I'd much rather be completely satisfied with the final result and not have to deal with any call-backs for sloppy or unfinished work. For critical jobs that require competent, professional workers, I would definitely recommend North Shore Builders.

Excellent! Deck turned out beautiful. The workers were all very nice, pleasant arrived on time and did their business. Deck & stone patio were done one year ago and so far so good. I would definitely use this company again. Two problems with azek decking that have nothing to do with the installation. Material doesn't dry - puddles will stay in it. I had to get a squeegee to get rid of the rain water. In the cold weather beware BLACK ICE will form easily. Keep lots of ice melt handy.

Mark runs a great business.  He's focused on customer satisfaction at a good price.  The 2 men he assigned to do the bulk of the work were a grandfather/grandson duo and they did very good work.  They were also polite and professional the whole time.  Additionally, Mark's son did some finishing work on the deck and he was also great to work with.  It took a little while to get started on the project - I think it was about 6-8 weeks from my initial contact with Mark before work actually began but that was because his teams were occupied on other jobs and I had to wait for them to free up.  Once they started, they worked efficiently and made good progress. 
Overall, I'm very happy with the results and I will definitely look to engage North Shore Builders on future home projects. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking from someone to help with home construction projects.

Mark was great at responding to my call. Provided a reasonable estimate and promise to do the job within a week. He followed through on his promise. Supervised two different workers, made adjustments at my request and got the job done on time. I like that he was willing to reuse existing boards that were still in good shape and that he is local and would be there if there were issues with the work.

They are good guys, they have proved to be reliable contractors. They go the extra mile in getting things the way you want it. They are not always the cheapest around, but they definitely do the job right. They show up when they're going to say, and they like to work early.

We like these guys a lot?  They might not be the lowest cost contractors, but they have always been fair. 
AND?  They are always cheerful & helpful, ?they will even sing along with oldies radio!

Provided prompt estimate and did work on time as promised. This was just the latest job. I have used him for many varied projects on my 1898 house over the past 3 years.

I interviewed many builders for this job and NS Builders stood out from the bunch; they were punctual, reasonably priced and had excellent references. They even took the time to drop by samples of materials for us to see and select from. 
The construction of the deck started on time and although there were several rainy days, the continued to worked under a tent to make sure the deck was built on time. We had some concerns with the  bounciness of the deck and even though digging several more support pilons wasn't in the original quote, NS Builders did the right thing and installed them at no extra charge. We love our new deck and we know if there are any issues with it, the team at NS Builders will be there to make sure we are satisfied.

The work described above was done in multiple projects over that the past 2 years.
Phil has been very  responsive in providing an estimate after he examines a specific requirement.
Several times when I felt the cost was more than I wanted to spend,  he provided alternatives which, while not meeting everything we wanted, allowed us to get most of what we wanted for a price that was more affordable for us. For some of the work, we used an architect to provide ideas and plans which Phil implemented but for much of the work, he developed a solution and then did the work.

When we first bought the house and had identified critical work that we wanted to do before moving in, I sought bids from three recommended contractors. Northshore builders was the only one to respond with a complete bid and was willing to start work quickly. For several other portions of the work, I did get third party bids but Phil's bid was always competitive so we continued to use him and his team.His crew are all good people who we have been willing to work in our house when we are not home.

For the work not done directly by his team such as electrical and plumbing, the local contractors used by Phil have also been very good people and reliable.
