"Thanks largely to the project manager, Mike, our bathroom addition was completed on budget and on time. Two gifted carpenters, Dan and John, did impeccable work and the subcontractors were great."

"The project went beautifully. We cannot say enough good things about Ryan, his guys and his subcontractors. Ryan is like no other contractor we've ever worked with and we've worked with a lot....most of them mediocre at best. He's a great guy, trustworthy and easy to work with. Ryan was on top of things throughout the entire project and responds to texts and phone calls within minutes. His guys showed up every morning, on time and were quiet and respectful of our space. We couldn't be happier with their work (especially Lance's tile work). His subcontractors were punctual and all did fantastic quality work. We would hire Ryan again in a second and would highly recommend him to anyone."

Small jobs welcome

"Jeremy and his crew were great! Personable yet professional. The job took a little longer due to more subfloor damage than expected. The end result… perfection! I will definitely hire ACQ Home Improvement again, and gladly recommend them to my friends and clients."

"Bruno did an excellent job by using high quality material and is highly skilled on the job. He has amazing warm energy and attitude. Most amazing aspect is he treated the work and apartment as his own, always thinking and doing work beyond what we are thinking or asking. The best customer service contractor I have ever met. Definitely will hire him for future new work."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

While possible for small projects, professional designers ensure compliance with building codes and structural integrity.

Yes, professionals offer design services that ensure cohesive appearances.

Stone, marble, and brick are common building materials of Neoclassical architecture, though you will also find wood flooring and a range of natural stone tiles. Since several home styles fall under Neoclassical architects' umbrella, a range of building materials—including traditional wood framing—will make an appearance.

Most towns and cities have regulations regarding sign dimensions for businesses. If you're opening a new business, contact the town or city's local zoning board to see the specifications you need to follow when getting your sign created. There may also be rules regarding how high your sign can sit. Be sure to learn about specifications before having your sign made. Sign companies generally won't offer refunds once custom signs have been fabricated.

Universal design costs can be minimal when you add them during construction; however, adding universal design principles to existing homes can sometimes increase renovation costs. For example, a mid-grade bathroom remodel is estimated to cost around $30,000, while a standard universal design remodel can cost closer to $40,000. Adding accessible design components can include widening hallways ($500 to $2,000), curbless showers ($2,000 to $8,000), and widening doors ($400 to $800). Keep in mind that these increased costs can lead to higher resale values because universal homes may appeal to a wider variety of buyers.
