"They inspected the chimney from up on the roof, something that the chimney sweeps that had been cleaning the chimney since 2016, when we first moved in, had never done. They took pics and showed us how the lining of the chimney was collapsing and it had been in this state for a long time. So in addition to cleaning the chimney, they also replaced the lining inside it. It was an expense I didn't expect, but we use the fireplace a lot and it needed to be done."

"After a couple of attempts of amateur attempts at repairing my chimney leak during heavy wind/rain storms, I've decided that it was time for some professional help to solve this chimney leak. I started searching around on Angieslist and the rest of the internet, and it was quite a long searching process. There are plenty of Chimney companies out there; but Five Star drew my attention. It was the high Ratings, plus a Facebook page that allowed me to see some of their previous work. Speaking with Five Star I sent them over some pictures of my Chimney with a yard stick for in the image as a reference. After couple of email exchanges, they sent me over a quote - which I found to be the respectable in this arena, especially for the work I wanted done, which is replacing the entire chimney. It's a lot of labor! After setting up the appointment, all that was to do is to wait for them and their crew to arrive. The entire process took a few days; starting with the demolition of the old chimney, constructing the new chimney, and finishing the new chimney with a crown, flashing, and water resistance capabilities. One thing I noticed with Pete and his crew is punctuality, on time each day and getting everything ready for work. At the end of this, I have a new chimney that is no longer leaking per the recent rain storm that passed through the area. And all of the old chimney and construction materials are no longer at my house. A warm thanks to Pete and the rest of Five Star Ventilation for replacing my chimney, I am one happy customer!"

"I found 5 Star Ventilation through the internet and as pretty much every review reads, had an amazing experience!! Amy was always friendly, professional and prompt in responding to e-mails/telephone calls. Given that this is their busy season and also the holidays, I was very pleased to be able to get an appointment within a week from my initial inquiry. My appointment was scheduled for 3:30p today, but Amy called me around noon and asked if it would be OK if Jeffery arrived a few hours early. I had already indicated in an earlier e-mail that if he was running early/late that would be fine since I work from home, so it worked out perfectly for me. Jeffery inspected my gas fireplace and informed me that it was actually very well built and could be easily converted to a to be wood burning fireplace. He took the time to explain the benefits of each gas/wood burning as well as the differences in maintaining each type of fireplace. I elected to keep the gas in place at this time so Jeffery proceeded with a chimney cleaning and flue repair to keep the chimney/fireplace in compliance with current building safety requirements. In his chimney inspection he noted necessary repairs that should happen in the future that could ultimately save me thousands of dollars over the next several years. Needless to say, the repairs will be made by Jeffery and his team at 5 Star Ventilation and I can't stress how highly I recommend this business!!! A+++++++++"
