"Don’t usually do review’s but the Rainbow Painting Pro team was outstanding, they did an amazing job on the tile and painting in my bathroom I’m going to have them do the same in my kitchen. They were on time and finished the job quickly. I would definitely recommend there services over a high professional company they do the same job without the high price."

"I hired Byron Wilmot of Delight Painting to refinish my deck. It had been left in very poor condition after being power-washed by another company, and I was discouraged. Byron assured me that he could have the deck looking great, which it is, now thanks to him. He gave me a very reasonable estimate and began work right away! I truly am impressed with his hard work and dedication to getting the job done right. I only wish I had hired Delight Painting sooner, as they also do interior jobs. My deck looks like new and the price was great!"

"We appreciated how quickly Luis Souza came to provide a quotation. He offered a fair price, and he accommodated our schedule, which was quite compressed. His company also cleans carpeting, so we hired them for carpet cleaning right after the painting was complete (and dry). His staff were incredibly hard working and thorough. I asked for all interior doors (both sides) and trim to be painted, in addition to the walls. The painter was very thorough, improving the window sills and even fixing some drywall that looked awful. Then the carpets were cleaned, beautifully. My husband and I could not ask for anything more. Great company. I put their business card on my bulletin board so that we have it for the future."

"It went great. The owner immediately responded to my job inquiry and showed up the next day to assess my needs. I had concerns about 'paint overlap' on my new expensive windows but the painter was very precise and conscientious in his work. The color was matched perfectly. I will now hire them to repaint/stain my rear deck and for other projects in the future."

"Work went well. I feel it could have been better if I hadn't rushed the contractor to get it done. But overall, the yard looks good and the flowers are now blooming beautifully. Following his directions, the new grass has also sprouted up nicely. I've received several compliments from passers-by. I would hire this person again."

"Vista started this job 9/17. From the beginning we were told by the salesman Eric and project manager Keith that the job would be finished to our satisfaction, all our concerns would be addressed. The roofing went well, we are pleased. The siding was a bigger job than they seemed prepared for. They removed wood siding and replaced rotten plywood. The siding looked fine except for an area in the front of our home which is vertically uneven. Holding a straight edge to the siding we have a one inch gap in the vertical level which was not properly prepared. Some our window frames are horrible. One of them has nails driven right in the center of the frame, others have gapping joints and one is wavy. They replaced our perfectly fine topped gutter with a 'top of the line' gutter which isn't topped so is now full of leaves. We live in the woods what were they thinking? At the signing of this contract our salesman Eric said he would do some porch screen framing and stain our new front door. He wanted payment of $600 stating this was his side job. After many, many phone calls, most being ignored, we have gotten no where. Brian Rudd finally came out and told us these problems would be corrected. Last we heard from him was 11/17. He emailed that the siding crew would be out that week to correct window trim. We never heard from or saw any of them again. They never installed the stove vent, stained the front door or corrected our siding issues. I've waited for spring thinking I would hear from them. Too bad, things started out well. Not a good company."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

You should refinish your deck to maintain its appearance, durability, and longevity. Refinishing your deck protects the wood from foot traffic and the elements. It also helps extend its life span by keeping rot, mildew, and termites at bay. By maintaining your deck, you can avoid the cost of replacing your deck sooner. A refinished deck also looks great and restores some of its original beauty.

Costs depend on coating type, labor, site preparation, and required finishes.

Here's the deal with leaving used rags covered in oil-based stain lying around in a pile: Depending on the conditions, these rags can take just an hour or up to a few days to combust. The source of ignition is caused by trapped heat that can be compounded if the rags are near a heat source.

It is definitely worth sanding a deck to ensure the wood absorbs new stain. Sanding a deck removes the outer layers of aging wood, allowing the stain to penetrate. It also gives a fresh look to the entire surface as part of the deck refinishing process. Without sanding, your stain or sealant is less likely to absorb into the wood. While sanding a deck is a time-intensive project, the rewards are noticeable and long-lasting.

Your tool of choice ultimately comes down to personal preference. Many DIYers prefer applying stain with a lint-free rag, but others stick with a paint brush or a roller. Wipe the stain and work it into the wood, working with and against the grain. If you’re applying multiple coats, allow the stain to dry for around four hours between coats.
