"I donâ t normally write positive reviews. But, The guy I dealt with (Ernie) really made this easy for my wife, which made it even easier for me. Reviewed our options , educated us on the products, and was very responsive. My wife had originally wanted a more expensive shade but Ernie actually suggested some other options which were cheaper. Who does that ? Somebody I would work with again. Thanks for the help."

Customers say: Terrific value

"We hired Rudy to replace our rotted basement window sills and our rickety basement stairs. We are quite pleased with the results of both projects. The basement stairs, especially, turned out to be magnificent. Based on our experience, we would not hesitate to hire Rudy for future work."

"????? Joe did an awesome job mounting my TV on the wall. He was professional, showed up on time, worked efficiently, and made sure everything was level, secure, and looked clean when he was finished. The whole process was easy and the TV came out perfect. I?d definitely recommend Joe to anyone who needs a TV mounted or other handyman work done."

Window Treatments questions, answered by experts

The maximum protruding distance allowed for a bay window is determined by its flank angles. 30-degree flanks can extend about 13 to 14 inches. If the angle is 45 degrees or larger, then the bay window can stick out about 19 inches. If the window extends too far out, it would cause structural instability and safety concerns.

Mold on windows forms due to excess moisture from condensation, poor ventilation, or leaks. Cold glass surfaces can attract condensation, especially in winter. High indoor humidity, lack of airflow, or dust accumulation are also contributors. To prevent mold growth, improve ventilation, regularly clean sills, and consider using a dehumidifier or sealing any leaks.

If you decide to forgo your old windows and upgrade them to modern day technology, there may be some people interested in the old windows. You can try selling them on an online marketplace for around $50 to $100 each (so long as the window wasn’t damaged during the removal). This can also help off set the overall price to replace them.

When you need new windows depends on a variety of factors, including the age of your windows, the age of your home, and the climate you live in. If you’re dealing with budget constraints, you don’t need to replace all your windows simultaneously.

When buying new windows, you should consider energy efficiency, safety, and aesthetics to choose the right window for you.

If you don't have hurricane shutters or impact-resistant windows, boarding up windows before a hurricane is worth it. According to the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes, protection is essential for all your home's entry points, including windows, doors, skylights, and garage doors.

When windows break, wind enters your home, creating enough pressure that could cause the weakest part of your to rupture. Often, the weakest part is the roof, which can "pop" off of a home in a hurricane. The simple act of boarding up your windows can protect the structural integrity of your house.
