"Entire process exceeded my expectations from the initial contact I had with Alliance to the completion of the project. The proposal I received from Keith provided the level of detail I was looking for and he did a great job in going over the siding products Alliance offered to detailing all the necessary steps in the process. The installation process went very smoothly and was completed in a timely manner. The crew led by Serg were extremely professional, knowledgeable and focused. I could not be happier with the work they did and Serg kept me updated on how the project was progressing and was quick to reach out to me with any questions he had on the proposed installation approach. Therefore, I would recommend Alliance for any home improvement needs that you may need addressed. Lastly, I was so satisfied with the siding installation Alliance did I am now having them replace the two entry doors to my garage. Thank you again Sergiy, Keith, Serg and the rest of the installation crew. CFP Sr."

"Robert Roofing and Gutters did an excellent job!  My husband and I had a leak in the living room of our home and decided we would give Angie's List a try. After reading through the reviews, we decided on Robert Roofing. We contacted them, and fortunately, they were able to come out the next day!  The owner was very upfront about the costs and they did not charge us a penny over what was quoted.  They replaced our shingles - they look great and no leaks!  Comments:  professional, prompt and courteous.  Would recommend.

"Working with Louis (and his son and wife) was wonderful. What I was most looking for was a very high quality job (since I am having the driveway paved in a few weeks, and don't want to have part re-done later). Not only were Louis and his family very professional, they took care of everything quickly, made sure to stay in touch with the progress, and overall were very nice to work with. Louis was also very willing to work around the timing of getting the driveway replaced, which was important.
Louis was able to give me an initial estimate over the phone; he later stopped by with his wife to give a more exact quote (which ended up being slightly higher, as the foundation needed to be cut down several inches -- something that should have been done when the house was built).
On the first day, Louis and his son took out the portion of the garage floor that needed to be removed. They came back two days later (because of rain) to pour the concrete. The next day they came back for the finishing touches that needed to wait for the concrete to cure.
Everything looks perfect. Louis was even able to make a slight grade so that if any water were to get in the garage, the water will be able to get back out. And the garage doors come down perfectly.
I did, of course, check out his Angie's List reviews first. I noticed that the only people not giving and quot;Aand quot; reviews were people who never had him do work for them -- Louis seems to have a good sense of who will be a good customer, and is willing to walk away from an occasional job to avoid the potential of an unhappy customer (e.g. if they have unrealistic expectations, or want him to skip over important steps to save money). That is refreshing; few people will do that. It's just a shame that some people will write a bad review when that happens. It's fine to ask to hold off on a payment until the completion of a job, or have your lawyer request changes to a contract, if you're dealing with someone new. But you cannot expect someone in business for many years with impeccable references to change their business methods for you. In fact, when he mentioned to me that someone wanted to change the terms of his contract, I warned him to be leery.
I signed the contract without even thinking of having my lawyer review it, and I paid him the first 3 payments in advance, and was extremely happy with the work.
I think the job can best be summed up by my call to let Louis know that I wanted him to do the job. When I called, he told me that he would take care of it from there, that I wouldn't even need to call him. He just took care of everything, and did a perfect job -- everything I was hoping for!

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

There are a handful of things you can look for to determine if you need to pay for gutter repairs, including the following:

  • Water leaking from the underside of your gutters during rainfall

  • Visible gaps between your gutters and your roof

  • Frequent issues with gutters overflowing or holding standing water

  • Gutters that sag or pull away from the house

  • Water damage to soffits, fascia boards, or other building materials

  • Mold growth on your exterior walls

  • Soil erosion underneath your roof overhang

  • Foundation leaks or inward bowing of foundation walls

Yes, gutter repair is almost always worth the investment. Some homeowners believe that gutter repairs are only to improve the home’s curb appeal, but gutters play a pivotal role in protecting your foundation from damage and structural instability, and they also prevent water damage to your soffits, fascia, roof, and exterior walls. You will pay an average of around $400 to have your gutters professionally repaired, but it’s worth it even for the peace of mind of knowing that one of your largest investments is adequately protected from the elements.

It’s technically possible to remove some soffit material without removing your gutters, but it’s usually a good idea to remove gutters, fascia, and soffit and then reinstall them in the opposite order. Replacing soffits without removing gutters is likely to leave you with a less professional and clean appearance, and you’re more likely to do damage to your gutters and fascia boards in the process.

Water should not be dripping behind your gutters. Rain dripping between your gutters and the fascia might indicate that the gutters are misaligned with the fascia board or there are loose screws in the gutters, allowing water to pass through. Start by checking for these issues and make repairs ASAP.

Zinc gutters can truly last a lifetime. As one of the strongest materials used for roofing and gutter systems, zinc can last up to 90 years. Even copper gutters don't last as long as zinc gutters. Zinc gutters are a long-lasting investment in both the value and appearance of your home.
