"My experience with sales was very good as well as the quality of the gutters and installation. My only negative was that the installers wanted to route the drainage on the surface instead of tying the down spouts into the ground system like my older gutters as agreed with sales. I had to physically dig at the base of the old down spouts to expose the drainage piping system and suggest how they could tie into it to the installers and convince them that it was doable."

"I sent an e-mail to Alliance at noon time and received a response within the hour. Met with Sergi later in the day to view the 5 windows I wanted to replace. In the meeting I mentioned that I also wanted to replace 3 of the windows in the dining room. No problem. Two weeks later all 8 windows were installed in one day --One window was shipped damaged..this was replaced within 2 weeks. I am very impressed with the work performed and the fact they left the area very clean. I will order from them again next year."

"After reviewing estimates from three companies, we decided on Roberts Roofing. Robby was very personable all throughout the process, answering all our questions and offering advise on several aspects of the job. He was responsive to our calls and gave us a reasonable time frame to start the job (which turned out to be somewhat optimistic, but I suspect that can be said of most every contractor). Since we did not need the job done right away, our timing was flexible, and we were happy with the scheduling. The crew showed up around 7am each day and worked steadily all day long, breaking only for lunch. Robby was on site working the roof with the crew every day. They seemed to have a very coordinated approach and completed the job in the time frame quoted. They did a nice job cleaning up the yard after the job was done, and the roof looks great! We would certainly recommend Roberts Roofing and Gutters for any project.

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

In most cases, it makes more sense to repair leaking or damaged gutters than it will to replace them. You’ll spend an average of $400 to repair your gutters, while full replacement will cost around $2,000 or more, depending on the gutter material and style and the size of your home. If your gutters are nearing the end of their lifespan—usually around 20 years for aluminum or vinyl gutters or up to 50 years for copper or steel—then it might make sense to replace them, as it could cost you less in the long run.

Leaks, corrosion, sagging sections, and loose fasteners are common problems that need fixing.

It’s technically possible to remove some soffit material without removing your gutters, but it’s usually a good idea to remove gutters, fascia, and soffit and then reinstall them in the opposite order. Replacing soffits without removing gutters is likely to leave you with a less professional and clean appearance, and you’re more likely to do damage to your gutters and fascia boards in the process.

Properly installed gutters should be able to function normally in heavy rains. Allowing water to overflow can cause water damage around your home's basement or foundation. If the overflow is caused by a simple clog, paying a gutter cleaning cost of $125 to $250 may be enough to get the gutters running clear again. If there's a larger issue, you may need to repair or replace your gutters.

When you need to repair your galvanized gutters from leaks and caulk isn’t doing the job, you can solder your gutters with a roofer’s soldering iron. First, you’ll need to clean your gutters thoroughly with a wire brush and remove rust and oxidized paint. Next, you’ll make weld points on the gutter and solder over the connection until it’s completely smooth. You can also hire a roofing company near you to tackle this project.
