Customers say: True professional

"G&P was fantastic to work with. We had a multi-phase project which included clearing our side yard that was over grown with vines, removing dead trees, grinding stumps, planting new trees, mulching, and planting a new lawn. Phil and his crew were courteous, knowledgeable, communicative, and just fantastic to work with. Our expectations were exceeded in every single way. Highly recommend this team!"

"Boyd Property Management did an incredible job installing my new walkway. They came and gave me a great price, showed up to do the job when they said they would, did a great job with the installation, and went above and beyond cleaning up afterward. I am very happy with their work and professionalism, and am going to have them do a patio and retainer wall this spring. I would highly recommend them!"

"I hired Amazonia to grade and landscape a large area in my back yard that was cleared of trees. This area was beautifully transformed in a matter of days. The work included grading, irrigation, mulching, new plantings, and installing a fire pit and patio. Andre is extremely responsive, hard working, and a true artist of his craft. He also has a very hard working crew working alongside him. I am so happy I hired Andre for this work and look forward to working with him in the future."

Mulch and Topsoil questions, answered by experts

Yes, rotting leaves can be good for your soil. The decaying leaves release nutrients into the soil that can boost the health of your plants, and the organic matter also helps improve airflow and water drainage.

While organic mulch offers many benefits, it can also attract bugs looking for shelter, food, and water. Insects, rodents, snails, and slugs are often attracted to its decomposing material.

Many suppliers offer installation services, either directly or through reliable subcontractors. Discuss these needs when ordering, as they may require additional scheduling or payment.

To take advantage of any deals on ordering gravel in bulk, it can also be beneficial in the long run to work on other gravel projects you plan to complete someday. These may include filling in a gravel driveway, building a patio, constructing a fire pit area , planning a garden walkway, or using stone instead of mulch in your flower beds.

Mulch costs anywhere from $30 to $150 per cubic yard, depending on several factors. On the lower end, common types like red and black mulch cost about $35 to $40 per cubic yard and are often made from recycled wood. More premium options like cedar, cypress, and rubber mulch can cost between $100 and $120 per cubic yard. The total cost is also influenced by delivery, which can be around $75 per cubic yard, though many companies provide a free estimate. It is generally cheaper to buy mulch in bulk and have it delivered, but buying it in bags may be more cost-effective for smaller areas. Other factors like the quantity you need, time of year, your geographical location, and professional installation will also affect the final price. Before getting quotes, it's a good idea to calculate how much mulch you need. A professional can help you determine the most suitable type for your landscaping needs.
