"Roberto, and the crew did an outstanding job power washing and repainting our home. We have just moved on to the Cape from Colorado and the house we purchased was in needed of new paint. Roberto worked around our tough schedule, his own very busy schedule and the schedules of other contractors plus the challenges of the weather. When it all came together he and his crew were able to completely power wash, sand and repaint our new home and it now looks fantastic ! Roberto was very professional, he communicated and his crew cleaned up after each day. Nataliya in the office was also very helpful, ensuring we were keep informed. we would recommend them!"

"Anderson and his crew were very meticulous with great attention to detail. The exterior staining was a difficult project as my home had not been stained in many years and many shingles had to be replaced. His shingling crew did a fantastic job and the house looks awesome. Anderson checked on the work almost daily and he made sure that we were happy with the results. My husband and I would highly recommend Anderson and Sons Painting for any home project."

"The team tackled a tough job of a badly deteriorating deck floor and railing. It took several days of sanding to get to a level and smooth surface ready for staining. In addition, they did window trim, fixed pulpy garage door and widow sill areas, power washed house and deck and painting a portion of siding that was peeling. Overall, a good deal of work done after a great prep job."

"Andre and his crew did a very professional paint job on our house and garage. Additionally, they also did exterior carpentry repairs on both structures. The crew was neat, efficient and thorough and removed all debris. We have recommended Andre to our neighbors."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

You’ll need to restrain your deck when you notice fading, cracking, peeling, or mold and mildew over a moderate to large area, or when it’s become especially difficult to clean. As for how often to stain a deck, plan to do it every two to three years or whenever you start to notice extended damage.

Applying too much sealer to a deck might seem like extra protection, but it can cause more harm than good. Wood is a porous material with a limited capacity to absorb liquids. When you go overboard with sealer, the excess can't soak in and instead forms a film on the surface. This leftover layer is prone to peeling, cracking, and trapping moisture, ultimately defeating the purpose of sealing in the first place.

Provided conditions are ideal, staining an entire deck should take as little as a couple of hours and up to a couple of days to apply and cure. Additional procedures, like sealing a deck or using additional treatments, may extend the project by a few additional days.

Routine cleaning, sealing/staining, and inspection prolong deck life and appearance.

While the answer varies based on weather, 10 a.m. is a good time to start painting. The dew will have dried, meaning there’s no moisture on the house, and the temperature will likely be moderate and the sunlight less direct. Starting mid-morning should also give you enough daylight and pleasant weather to work on the job for several hours.
