"Kevin and Anthony cleaned the fireplace chimney and repair the fireplace. They both were experts in their knowledge of chimneys and fireplaces. They were both very friendly and polite. I would recommend the Shamrock Chimney Company and I would definitely hire them again."

I have been in the roofing and construction industry my entire life, my father owns one of the most renowned construction companies in the area. I have decided to go out on my own, I specialize in sheet metal and copper. "They came on time (within the window) and went straight to work. One person went on the roof to inspect the outside of the chimney, and the cover. The other came inside and cleaned out the ashes on the floor of the fireplace. 5 Star also did the actual sweeping. Afterwards they vacuumed all around the fireplace, and provided me with a written estimate for work to the inside and out of the chimney. The entire visit only took an hour or so, and I felt they were very thorough."

"

We recently had our roof cleaned, they also cleaned our gutters, patio, steps, shed and chimney .. (which was part of the

roof cleaning service). " absolutely wonderful ".  In addition to that, Rich had them install a diverter on the roof to properly divert the rain water into the gutter.  Great idea, very thoughtful of him.

The gentleman that did the work (Nick) was professional, courteous and conscientious. Excellent job start to finish.

I would highly recommend Clean My Roof LLC..

Chimney Sweep questions, answered by experts

DIY cleanup is not recommended due to hazardous soot, odors, and potential structural issues.

Yes, most homeowners insurance policies cover fire damage and restoration, provided the fire was not set intentionally or caused by negligence. Accidental fires, such as those from electrical issues, cooking, or gas, are typically covered. Your policy will usually cover emergency services like roof tarping, the full cost of remediation and rebuilding, and may also cover alternative housing while your home is being restored. You will be responsible for paying your policy's deductible. It is important to check your policy details to see how coverage is calculated—it may be for the full replacement cost of damaged items or the actual cash value, which accounts for depreciation. To expedite your claim, contact your insurance company immediately and have all necessary documentation ready.

After a house fire, you should not reenter your home unless the fire crew has told you it’s safe to do so. In the longer term, you should not attempt to make repairs to the house on your own. Professional crews are trained to clean up after a fire (including smoke and soot damage), dry out any water damage from the firefighter crews, and make the necessary structural, plumbing, and electrical repairs—and this is all likely covered by insurance.

Pricing a fire-damaged house is tricky, and it’s best to involve some professionals. First, get a comprehensive repair estimate from a fire damage restoration expert. Next, have a real estate agent get you an as-repaired value for the home, which represents what the house would be worth if fully repaired. Subtract the repair estimate from the as-repaired value to get the as-is value.

As with any smoking appliance, a smoking oven is a concerning fire risk. It also negatively impacts your indoor air quality, which can put vulnerable people at risk of breathing problems. A dirty oven can catch fire if you don’t stay on top of regular maintenance, so remember to check your oven for signs that it’s time for a cleaning and remove buildup every three months to stay on the safe side.
