"They did the job quickly, neatly and cleaned up after. They also completed all my requests for where the new downspouts ended up. We hired them over others because they install Micromesh Pro stainless steel gutter guards."

"They called back the next day and I one day after that, I had an employee inspect the gutters we had the following day. Before he left, we had an estimate in writing that was very reasonable for the amount of work to be done. Work was scheduled for about 4 days later, and they finished in one day. They replaced some gutters, repaired some, put covers on all, and added new ones where we never had them before. They repaired rotted wood behind the gutters and then painted with our paint that they had requested when the estimate was given. Good company, professional, courteous, polite and efficient."

"Willard came out and installed a gutter that was not the same color as other gutters. WHen I contacted them, they came out and reinstalled with no charge. I also asked them to move the elbow from the bottom to the top, and still did not charge extra. They stand behind their work,. and Melanie was easy to deal with."

"Received estimate on 11/14/16 from Wayne. Was told that it would be a week out before scheduling, Crew showed up on 11/15/16 to take care of the job. All in all, unless the lack of service from East Coast Gutter - Hollis, NH, Gutter Kings was very responsive, professional, and quick with the repair. Will be hiring them for a bigger job this coming Spring."

"My experience with the guys from RJ Scalzi and Sons was fantastic from the start to finish.  Upon first contact, Matt was timely with his response, and after booking a time to get a quote he came out and spent close to an hour and a half going through the process with me.  He walked me through the entire process, showed examples of how their work differentiates themselves among their competitors, he had materials with him to show the quality and care they take in their installation process, and took the time to ensure I was comfortable with the job.  As this was a big undertaking (especially for a relatively new homeowner) he was open and honest, encouraged me to get other quotes, and spent enough time measuring the house to give an exact quote with materials cost that held true at the end of the job.  When I decided to sign up and go with Scalzi and Sons, I spoke to Matt about some personal time constraints on when the job would take place, and he was able to find a time earlier than originally quoted that worked for the crew and for me, I can't thank them enough for that.
Matt's brother Rocco was the first on the job when we began, getting everything set up and taking appropriate measurements to ensure the siding would be going on level as my house is built into a slight hill so the exterior lawn is not even across the stretch of the front.  Everyone on the Scalzi and Son team was personable and nice to chat with while on the job site.  My wife was home for some of the work being done, they were courteous and respected her privacy while in the house as they would work on other parts of the house in that case.  Matt and Rocco both spent time with me checking in, showing me what had been done, asking small detail questions to ensure the job was in line with what i was expecting.  They have a small aluminum design piece they put at the peak of the roofline on one side of the house (their signature design) and they were comfortable putting it up, making sure the boss (my wife) was happy with how it looked, and were willing to replace it even after the work went in if she wasn't content (it looks great by the way, definitely take them up on it).  Their father even stopped by on two occasions to make sure the boys were keeping the work up to standard, it was nice to see.
Overall they stuck to the timeframe, the cost remained exactly as quoted, any issues that came up were resolved quickly, and they were attentive to managing my expectations from start to finish.  Matt spent another hour or more after the job going through everything that was done to ensure we were in good shape.  I will note that a few weeks later, we noticed an issue with being able to open some of the windows on the house (we have old crank windows that are a bit odd)  Matt got my late night email, called me the next day, and the following day he had the entire crew and his father over.  They had moved a Saturday job around, came out all hands on deck, and fixed every issue despite my windows being part of the problem for no additional fee.  Good luck finding that level of service and pride in their work!
I can't say enough about the quality and care that RJ Scalzi and Son bring to the table.  I highly recommend bringing Matt out for a quote and you'll see the professionalism and honesty in action.  We've already talked about getting the team back out to help me replace my windows in time.  Highly highly recommended!

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

There are a handful of things you can look for to determine if you need to pay for gutter repairs, including the following:

  • Water leaking from the underside of your gutters during rainfall

  • Visible gaps between your gutters and your roof

  • Frequent issues with gutters overflowing or holding standing water

  • Gutters that sag or pull away from the house

  • Water damage to soffits, fascia boards, or other building materials

  • Mold growth on your exterior walls

  • Soil erosion underneath your roof overhang

  • Foundation leaks or inward bowing of foundation walls

Most repairs take 2-4 hours, but extensive repairs or full section replacements may take an entire day.

Yes, many homeowners find that seamless gutters are worth the investment. Although they have a higher upfront cost than standard gutters—an average of $2,700 compared to $2,000—their benefits often outweigh the price difference. Seamless gutters last longer, require less maintenance, and are less prone to clogs and leaks due to having fewer seams. In contrast, standard gutters typically have seams every 10 feet, which can leak and require new sealant every one to five years. Additionally, seamless gutters are considered more aesthetically pleasing, come in a variety of colors to match your home, and can improve your home's curb appeal and potential value.

Most homes will sustain water damage without gutters. When a home doesn't have gutters, water that runs off the roof will splash down to the ground to create foundation damage, rotting trim, rotting fascia, and soil erosion. A broken or compromised gutter system can be just as damaging as having no gutters. That's why it's essential to talk to roofing pros about how to fix gutters pulling away from house as soon as you notice an issue.

In most cases, it makes more sense to repair leaking or damaged gutters than it will to replace them. You’ll spend an average of $400 to repair your gutters, while full replacement will cost around $2,000 or more, depending on the gutter material and style and the size of your home. If your gutters are nearing the end of their lifespan—usually around 20 years for aluminum or vinyl gutters or up to 50 years for copper or steel—then it might make sense to replace them, as it could cost you less in the long run.
