The Willard Company is a full service residential and commercial roofing company specializing in asphalt, copper, slate, tile, and wood (cedar) shingles, and rubber roofing. We install all types of siding. Parker M. Willard Jr., our 5th generation family member, is our General Manager with over 30 years of experience in the business. The Willard Company is fully licensed, trained and certified to give you the best products and workmanship at a fair and reasonable price. We still stand behind our workmanship longer than anyone in the industry and we pride ourselves on our service AFTER the job is complete. Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor's Registration #106642. Construction Supervisor's License #085926.

"Hello Mrs. [Member Name Removed], Firstly, I apologize for the delay in responding to your review. I wanted to carefully investigate the matter and speak to all parties involved and respond to your concerns, as well as give my own employees a moment to explain their sides of this story. Melissa has been spoken to regarding the proper tone and tenor in her phone conversations. While not intentionally hostile, she did come across as unprofessional, and for that she and I apologize. However, James had been nothing but professional in his dealings with you and your family members. Your emails were also answered promptly and courteously. I, however, as a 5th generation business owner, find fault in your remarks "...or at least they don't service certain people." We treat ALL of our customers with the utmost respect and treat ALL of contracted clients as if we were working on our own homes. That is an unfair assertion. We have been roofing for 145 years. My last name is on the truck. We didn't get to this point in such a diverse community by ignoring the needs of anyone. Period. If I had been the one to assess this work, I would have simply told you, that you needed a full replacement and we don't repair work when replacement is clearly needed. This would have been a swift decision; seeing all the pictures and several hours James spent trying to put a quote together. James was trying valiantly to keep you happy as a client, and find a way to repair the work. Speaking as a roofing professional, we will have to disagree on the definition of a "plum job." "Hi [Member Name Removed], I am sorry you feel the Willard Company has somehow wronged you, enough to elicit such a scathing review, purely based upon price. Especially given that our office help and our estimator were quick, courteous and professional. Each company operates differently. Our pricing has nothing to do with "taking advantage" of anyone. We are a 5th Generation, 144 year old company that wouldn't be in business this long, if we were "ripping people off". We'd be out of business quickly, especially in the internet age. Please read our reviews. We have many many reviews of happy customers. We stand behind our work 100% and our proud of our heritage and our workmanship. I am happy you found someone to fix your leak for as inexpensively as you did. But we will have to disagree on what is an "hour long job" for you. It is a repair that is almost 2.5 stories high, that has to be performed at a specific time, to meet your schedule and your plumber's schedule. So, here is for a breakdown of our cost: First, we have an estimator's time out to meet you and discuss your problem. (1 hour). We have our office admin, who typed, prepared and sent your proposal (1 hour). We had figured 1-1.5 hours for 2 men on the job, as our own safety regulations are to send 2 men to a job. (So, another 2-3 total man hours). That's five man hours plus time billing, gas, parts, insurance and overhead added onto that. I'd hope you'd understand that we can't do a job for $400. That price might work for a small (but reputable as you said) roofer, but not for a larger company with overhead. Our employees don't work for free. And as I said earlier, we stand behind our work 100%. I'd hope you'd understand that we make our living as roofers. And that we depend on positive reviews to keep our doors open and our employees working. I'd hope you'd reconsider this review after my explanation.
