Fully Insured & Licensed Our company is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. We are a home improvement contracting company based out of the boston area , working throughout boston, metro west , north and south shore. Our experienced team is committed to handling every job, whether small or large, with complete dedication and an eye to quality (paying attention to detail ). We believe in giving our customers the best value possible Whether you're looking to make a major renovation to your home or you've accumulated a list of small repair projects we at BuildWorks General Contracting can help

"Exceptionally poor quality, very little attention to detail, and did not finish a 1 week job after over 10 months. BEWARE!!!! They told a great story about wanting to partner with our building, doing ongoing work, and how they were willing to do all kinds of stuff. I called 3 references and they checked out. One of them told me to make sure to withhold money until the work was done - Thankfully we did for most of the work but not all. Here are the specific details of the work they were contracted to perform..... Not one single line item was totally finished while they checked their work independently. They asked for payment in full 5-6 times and the owner Paul didn't even realize that his partner Chris' team did not finish the work. They were not even close. Construction refuse left everywhere. Never cleaned up - I had to do it myself. In fact, during the actual work they didn't get a dumpster so there was trash everywhere. It took 3 calls for them to clean their own trash off of 2nd floor ledges that were otherwise inaccessible. Several items in the scope of work were not even touched. Doors installed improperly - Not square, trim left off, and they took a high quality door handle and replaced it with something that was $20. The door also looked like somebody had walked all over it by the time it was up, square, after many calls. I can still see daylight through part of the door when closed - Terrible quality. Conservatively, 100 contacts between calls and texts to finish the job properly. Many promises to finish that often ended in a no show on a committed date to finish. Complete disconnect in communication between Paul and Chris. It's as if one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. They replaced the trim on about 45 windows in our building. They damaged the interior of at least 6 when doing the work. No caulking on the windows and no paint which was part of their contract. This was never finished. Finished trim was installed with the rough side out. Gaps in the trim upwards of 1" where it wasn't square. Lots of cuts that were not square in general. It was a composite material used for the newly installed trim. It took about 6 calls and 2 separate visits to get them to put the plugs in the trim so it all looked flush. Masonry around the bottom of the building needed to be refinished. They did it but got the cement material literally all over the trim that they were supposed to paint. Never returned to paint 45+ windows and all of the trim installed. Never caulked the 45+ windows."

Typical roofing repairs cost between $380 and $1,800 on average. However, most homeowners spend approximately $1,100 on a roofing repair project. The size of the roof, the extent of the damage, and the type of project all impact the final cost. External factors like product availability and supply chain issues may also affect the price.

Projects like repairing damaged gutters will only be around $180 to $560, whereas repairing a sagging roof will be a higher expense at $1,500 to $7,000.

Roof repairs start at around $700.00 and go up from there.  There are many significant factors that come into play, and each customer's needs will rarely be the same.

The cost to replace your roof is often significantly more expensive than the cost to repair it. On average, homeowners will spend between $5,890 and $12,800 to replace a roof. The size of the roof, the roof’s pitch, and the number of stories the house has will significantly affect the overall cost. You can expect to spend upwards of $46,000 for large, high-end roofs.

This all depends upon size, type and complexity of the actual sloped areas of the roof.  An accurate estimate with detailed lists of covered and additional items is imperative when purchasing and protecting yourself during the process.

Although not every state issues licenses for roofing pros, it's important to check with your county or city if hiring a licensed roofing contractor is necessary. Hiring an unlicensed roofer might result in low-quality work and potential legal issues if an accident happens. It’s always best to check the qualifications and licenses of your roofer before they begin a project.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Before hiring a roofing contractor to work on your project, there are a few things you will want to ask, including:

  • Do you use roofing subcontractors?

  • Do you offer a warranty?

  • Do you have any references?

  • How will you clean up after the project is complete?

  • Will you remove my old or damaged roof?

Roofing is a highly skilled and labor-intensive trade. Because of this, you can expect to pay an average of $2 per square foot for your roofing professional. Roofing labor costs generally make up about 60% of the overall project cost.
