It went great. This was a large roof on a church and they arrived with about ten people and had the job complete is about one week. They completed the job as specified and did a great job of clean up. I would recommend them to anyone. Years ago I had the froof of my house shingled by this company and they did the same great job.

They were good with pricing. The work they did was good quality. I would not use them. They sold us a new roof and they were supposed to insulate our attic as well. They showed up and weren't prepared to do the insulation, and then turns out they weren't able to within the price they gave us. It really wasn't a good experience. The work that they did seems to be alright.

We received several estimates from local roofers to replace our 30 year old roof (2,500 sq foot house plus 2 car garage). Duval was right on the mark with other proposals, so we hired them and 3 weeks later they started the job. After doing some research, we selected 50 year GAF Timberline shingles which drove up the cost a bit over the traditional limited lifetime shingles (which we were expecting). Everything went seamlessly and they made the process very easy. The work took two days to complete and we couldn't believe the number of workers who were on the job. They came right on time the first morning, set up quickly and got right to work stripping and replacing the roof. We had some damage from ice dams this winter and a contractor we hired to do some work on the exterior of our house came over to coordinate work with the Duval team. They were very accommodating and found a good solution. They were meticulous with the prep -- installing ice and water shield, then a protective layer and drip/rake edge to the entire house. When the job was complete, the lead person on the crew walked me through what they did and answered my questions. The roof looks terrific and we couldn't be happier with our decision. I highly recommend the Duval team!

The initial interaction on the phone was less than promising, as we asked about a repair and they said "we don;t do repairs" and were quick to get off the phone. Upon calling for a roof replacement, they were more accommodating.
They sent a person out to give an estimate within the week, then sent us sample shingles, photos, and a list of over 200 homes they have worked on in the area so we could drive by and see the work and shingle styles. The estimate was in-line with what we had been quoted. Once we picked the shingle style and sent a deposit in, it was a little radio silent as to when they would do the job. The informed us they would call a few days before they would be there. After about 3 weeks, we got the call, and the crew showed up at 8:00 am on the specified date.
The crew was large, and the head foreman was very pleasant. He said they'd have the job completed by 3:00 pm. Much to my surprise, when I showed up at 3:00, we had a completely new roof. The team remained for another 30 minutes or so to clean up (which they did a great job of doing). 
They did the job on time, on budget, and it looks great. I would recommend Duval to anyone looking for a roof replacement.

They did an excellent job. They arrived at 7am, when they said they would. Worked all day and finished up at 2:30. Very professional. Cleanup was good. I would hire them again

They did a very good job.  They came in the morning and were very professional.  They did an okay job of cleanup, however I did find some debris left behind.

They did what they said they would. They came on time, they did it, they cleaned up, they left. The roof looks good. We have used them before and the roofs lasted. I would use them again.

I called Duval Roofing for an estimate.  They came out, looked around and then provided me with an estimate via US mail. Once I decided to go with Duval Roofiing,  I requested roofing shingles to view and those were mailed to me as well.  I was able to see other houses in the area with similar singles, which made it easier to pick a color, etc.   Once I settled on a shingle, I set up an appointment for them to come and replace the roof.  They were at my home very early in the morning.  Everything around the yard was covered and they were done by later that afternoon.  (Neighbors had been watching while I wasn't home and informed me of how quickly, but yet how neatly, the work was completed.)  Unfortunately, I was not able to be home when they job was complete but did take a walk around the house later that day and found everything in order.  They yard was cleaned up nicely and the driveway was swept clean.  Seeing that I wasn't able to be there when they finished, I was able to send them a check for the remainder due once I arrived home and saw that the job was complete.  I have been quite satisfied with their work.

I submitted an inquiry online to receive an estimate and promptly received a response and set it up for a couple of days later.  Ken Duval showed up a few minutes early and got right to it.  He provided the estimate along with samples of shingles, proof of insurance, and a huge list of references.  My wife and I reached out to four other roofers for estimates of which 3 were on Angie's List.  The quote from Ken was the lowest out of all five.  Once I had all of the quotes together, I reached out to Ken with quite a few additional questions to ensure I was comparing apples to apples.  The one difference between Ken and others is that he uses traditional felt paper vs the newer synthetic deck coverings.  I had a little concern about this but read a lot and the products are so new there is not any real evidence yet that it makes much of a difference.  My current roof was three tab with traditional felt paper and lasted 28 yrs and probably could have lasted a few more but I didn't want to wait for a leak to replace it.  We were able to choose between Tamco or IKO brand shingles for the price quoted.  Eventually, we decided to go with Ken.  Once we let him know we wanted to use him, he promptly sent out a contract and additional shingle samples.  When we sent back the contract and the deposit with the shingle selection, there was a bit of confusion on the type of shingle.  I had assumed the TAMCO 50 yr shingle would be used as it references Lifetime but it was really the TAMCO 30yr shingle.  The 50s were going to cost an additional $480 and would need to be special ordered.  The increase in price was not terrible but it would have been nicer if it was clearer.  I did some additional research and learned that the TAMCO 30 has a 15year full cost startup warranty which is better than most lifetime shingles that only have a 10yr.  Given that my current 3 tabs lasted 28yrs, I felt confident that a heavier architectural 30yr would at least last that long so decided to stick with the 30s.  I ordered my skylight from Lowes and coordinated with Ken for the installation within two weeks.  The communication between start to finish was outstanding.  I did all of my communicating via email and always received prompt responses.  If not same day, early the next day. 

On the day of the install, the workers showed up right on time and began prepping the house.  At this time, it was disovered that one of my skylights was not really a skylight but some plastic marred together with tar placed right on top of the current shingles.  It was not going to be possible to save it because it was surely going to crack when removed and it was most likely going to leak if we tried to reuse it.  It wasn't a big deal because it was just over an outdoor deck but I still wanted to have a skylight there.  So after it was removed, the head worker measured it and let me know the size.  I was able to locate one at the local Home Depot where the crew chief met me with his truck to deliver it back to my house.  Ken Duval's team was very accomodating.  I would have never been able to fit the skylights in my car and it would have been a pain to have to rent a truck to get them to our house so this saved a great deal of time having them be able to pick them up.

The team worked quickly and got everything done within 9hrs.  The one hiccup was that they did try to only put down 3 feet of Ice and Water, but after double-checking with Ken, the 6 ft was promptly put on.  They did a nice job cleaning up.  Of course there is still an occasional very small piece of shingle I find in the yard but it's nearly impossible to get every little piece. 

Overall, I would highly recommend looking into Duval Roofing if your in the need of a roof.  I received great service and exceptional value when comparing to others.  There were no gimicks, just straight forward roofing.  No sales pitches.  All of the other roofers I received quotes from had to pitch me their service to show me how and why they are better than everyone else.  For me, I do not like to be sold on anything.  I like to do my own independent research and determine for myself what materials are better and why, what is really needed vs a sales tack on for more money, and from first hand sources who have used the service.  I'm sure the other roofers are probably just as good, but when comparing value, there is no comparison.  Ken Duval purchases direct from the manufacturer in bulk allowing him to provide quite a bit lower price when it comes to shingles.  You have the option of using upgraded materials if you want for a reasonable increased cost but in my opinion not all of the upgrades are necessary and/or worth it.  He gives a standard 5 year guarantee which is in-line with most others.  I received a quote from another company with a lifetime guarantee but the cost was 6 times as much which is not worth it.  Another company had a 10yr guarantee but was 2.5 times higher in price.  The 2 others were both at 5 years and were closer to Ken's quote but still higher.

I would defintely look to Duval Roofing if I ever need to have any roofing work done in the future.

They wholesale the materials and have trucks that take away all the materials.  They do an amazing job with price and performance of the work.  They had 13 workers and 1 supervisor here and got the job done in a day and a half.  They did a very thorough job. They sent me a contract after I accepted their bid and was told that it would probably be around 3 weeks before they could do the work. I didn't know where I stood as far as when they would be doing the work. I tried to contact them during that time, but could not get ahold of them. Then they told me another three weeks. My roof started to leak and I tried to get in touch with them again. They did come out after 3 weeks and a day to do the work.

I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone. They started at 6 am and left at 9 pm with the work completely finished. They also totally cleaned up everything.

Ken Duval , the owner was very responsive for my request for an estimate to remove snow from my roof. He suggested that I wait to see whether a heavy and wet snowstorm was in the immediate forecast. Since there were two more upcoming storms within the week, I decided to go ahead with the snow removal. Overall, I was pleased with the service. However, I felt the $500 price was a bit high,given that it took 6 guys only 40 minutes to remove the snow.

The good news is that I called them...got a relatively quick callback (about 24 hours)...spoke with a very polite woman on the phone... and they were on site clearing my roof within 48 hours of my initial call. Now for the bad news: They didn't ring the doorbell or otherwise announce their arrival - they just hoisted ladders, climbed up on my roof, and went at it. They quickly cleared my roof BUT dumped all of that snow and ice on my front walkway...across my driveway...and onto my rear deck. The deck is a lost cause until spring - there must be nearly 4 feet of snow and ice piled up right outside my back door. They left so much snow in front of my garage doors that I couldn't get my car out - had to spend several hours shoveling. I called to express my dissatisfaction and see what they would be willing to do about it and I'm STILL waiting for a callback some two days after the fact. I'm saddened that this company is choosing to treat their fellow North Reading neighbors this way. Regrettably, I would NOT RECOMMEND using this company to remove ice and snow from your roof.

I called Duvall Roofing in the morning and asked for an estimate. The person at the office informed me that someone would be at my house within the hour to provide a quote. The owner arrived within 20 minutes and after reviewing my roof gave me a reasonable estimate. I agreed to the cost and he informed me that the crew would be at my house later in the day due to his busy schedule. Much to my surprise the crew showed up at my house 20 minutes later and did an outstanding professional job, even removing the roof snow from my driveway, walkway, and even my deck.

Rushed the job & even did work in the dark just to finish it in one day. Resulted in bad clean up,damaged outside grill & new section of roof leaking within two weeks.

He addressed the problem immediately and the problem was fixed. I was impressed with the fact on how honorable he was and his willingness to stand by his work. I often thought about having a 30 year roof installed on my home and would the roofing company stand behind it. I do not now, knowing that I had Duval Roofing install my roof. They didn't put the roof on correctly. I called the company that the contractor used to purchase the materials, and they said it was put on wrong. They got tar on the side of my house and the roof looks bumpy. He came when he had an opening. He didn't set up an appointment time because he was busy doing other jobs.

Duval put a new roof on my house several years ago, but I didn't have them do this flat section. Error of judgement on my part! They were the lowest estimate by far on the original roofing work and did a fine job. I was attempting to cut costs and kept trying to find the flat roof's slow leak on my own. I was totally unsuccessful and water damaged the ceiling underneath over time. It's a relief to have this work done properly. I'm very pleased with both the old and the new roofing work.

The team was extremely efficient. They tore down, replaced our entire roof, and cleaned up in about 3 hrs.

Ken Duval and his staff were quick to return my phone calls and were pleasant to work with. After the contract was signed and deposit check submitted, the work was scheduled for three weeks hence. The Duval crew arrived promptly at 7am on the scheduled day and finished the job, including a thorough cleanup, by 11:30am. They were efficient and professional.

A five star company. Requested an upgrade to a special type of shingles that qualify for energy rebate and requested addtional ice shield when the crew arrived. The addtioanal charges to me were fair and resonable. A perfect job from start to finish. The best contracter have ever dealt with in over 40 years.

Timely and informative quote including insurance info & samples. Large list of area houses provided with manufacturer & color so you could see what the shingles looked like on a full roof. Showed up on time and completed work in a day. Cleanup good. I liked that they have their own crew and don't sub the work out. Had a bit of an issue early on. There was some rotted decking near the chimney and a worker's foot went through and came through the living room ceiling (accident's happen - fortunately the guy wasn't hurt). Duval called the insurance company right away, and an adjustor was out next day. Check to cover repairs received within 30 days (and would have been sooner if I had found a plasterer to get me the written quote quicker!). Duval suggested I hold back $1k of their payment until the insurance check came in so I wouldn't feel like they were leaving me in the cold to fend for myself. Nice customer service!
