Faux Finishing is about decorative paint finishes. There are so many options out there: sponging, rag finish, glazing, crackle, venetian plaster, metallics, strie, lusterstone, stencils, borders and on and on. Faux Finishes can work for home or businesses. I really enjoy making a room new, fresh and exciting. From just a simple color redo to a metallic multi-colored texture, let's find something that makes you happy. I am not a paint crew. I work alone or with one helper so very large jobs of just painting a home one color will not be feasible for me to quote on.Finishes are assessed by square footage of walls, what type of finish is desired and priced per layer. Prep work is priced as regular painting would be which is hourly. Color consulting is $200 for exterior(includes sample paint swatches up to 4 colors), Interior $50 per room. Murals are dependent on complexity and size. Regular paint work(colors with now special finishes) is hourly. I am also part of the Crescent City Trade Exchange and in that case then materials/incidentals are paid to me while labor/finishes are all trade exchange.

"Some of the worst service and product I have ever received. Drapes did not fit the windows after the roomsbeautiful "specialists" did their measurements. Drapes arrived crumpled into a small box- which require professional steaming and ironing to straighten. Even so, they tell me if can do it myself, and the drapes looks even worse after ironing. The lining that THEY selected for me looks like reflective trash bags up in my windo from outside. I also expressed concern that I should only get one window treated first as a test, before committing to all 5- and the roomsbeautiful agent persuaded me to just do all 5. So I spend 2000 on these Drapes, which I will never in a thousand years put up in my home. And they won't accept refunds, and they only take zelle payments which cannot be reversed or argued. So WARNING: do not trust this company, and do NOT give them your money!!!"

Window Treatments questions, answered by experts

Yes, many professional companies offer high-rise window cleaning using specialized equipment and safety harnesses.

Yes, you should plan on being home when a window cleaner is cleaning your windows. The professional will clean both sides of the glass and will likely disassemble parts of your windows from the inside to clean and inspect the inner components, including the balances and weatherstripping. Much of this work requires interior access to your home, which means someone will need to be home to provide access to the window cleaner.

The best homemade cleaning solution for windows is one gallon of warm, distilled or bottled water mixed with five to ten drops of liquid dish soap. This is what professional window cleaners typically use when they make their cleaning solutions. Using bottled or distilled water will help avoid hard water stains after cleaning, and the soap will cut through grease, smudges, and debris on your glass.

Luckily, glass block windows need minimal maintenance. Other than regular cleaning, the only maintenance involved in having a glass block window is inspecting for cracks every year and applying sealer to the mortar joints if the blocks are set in masonry mortar. Glass block windows hold up well against wind and moisture better than traditional windows and are not prone to rot.

Hard water stains can permanently damage your glass if left untreated. The minerals dissolved in the water can etch the glass, causing long-term damage and affecting the overall integrity of the surface. Luckily, it is pretty simple to remove hard water stains by using vinegar, baking soda, or commercial cleaners.
