He explained to me which and how structures develop static electricity that lead to lighting discharges in a way that the physics made sense to me. "Matthew Newman owns the business and we are just delighted with them. It was expensive. We dealt mostly with Matthew and his head installer. They were very prompt. Matthew came and explained the whole process. We talked to a lot of people and we chose him. He explained all our options and he worked very hard with us to get financing done and when they started the job they were here early every morning. They would usually work until two or three in the afternoon when it starts getting really hot. It took them a week and a half to get the system up. It's 64 panels, it's a huge system. As far as the end results, right now I have a $133 credit for electricity! If we have to expand the system I will definitely be calling them."
Updating your old outlets, or adding grounding clamps to a metal box are two methods. Each home is different. Consult an electrician for advice on grounding a wire without doing extensive work to dig into the ground.
A wire stripping tool is the easiest way to strip sheathing or plastic insulation from electrical wires. A self-adjusting wire stripper cuts and removes the sheathing without damaging the core wire.
The cost to install or replace a circuit breaker depends on the price of the unit itself and the complexity of the installation. A new circuit breaker typically costs between $10 and $100, with standard breakers being the most affordable and GFCI or AFCI types costing more. If you are upgrading to a higher amperage, a 200-amp circuit breaker can cost between $250 and $350. The average total cost for professional installation is around $700, but this price varies. A simple replacement into existing wiring will cost less than a more complex project that requires opening walls, running new wires, and securing permits.
Let them know exactly what type of job you need them to do, and be as specific as possible to get the most accurate estimate. A photo of your project might help them better understand your needs. Ask what kind of prep you should complete before they visit and what kind of cleanup to expect after the visit. Finally, ask how long the project usually takes.
While you might not need to put lights and outlets on separate circuits, some local codes may require that you use separate circuits. Installing a separate circuit helps prevent total darkness in your home when your receptacle outlets take on too much power and blow a fuse or trip the breaker. It also costs less and is easier to simply install a new circuit.
