"I found Apex Plumbing online without a referral, after being warned by several friends to NOT use any of the larger, well-known plumbing companies they'd hired. Each had their own horror story: Inflated charges, unnecessary work done or needless follow up visits, poor customer service. I searched online and found Apex Plumbing, a company I'd never heard of, but it had 15 of 15 stellar reviews, so I called for an estimate. Apex (Quin Derouen) promptly returned my call, asked the right questions, rendering an accurate diagnosis, gave an accurate, ballpark estimate, then set the appointment for the following day (my request): It was a 1-minute conversation, short and to the point. Quin texted the following day to confirm the appointment, without being asked, then made a follow up courtesy call, letting me know he was on his way. Again, WITHOUT MY HAVING TO ASK. When he showed up (on the dot), he was polite, respectful and professional, and wasted no time in getting to work. Quin got the job done fast, replacing an old leaky drain pipe for my washing machine. He then said he wanted to run a quick wash cycle, so that we both knew the problem had been fixed to my satisfaction before he left. So I did (run a wash), and everything worked great! Apex Plumbing gets it done right the first time, and you can rely on Quin to charge a fair, reasonable price. He's reliable, competent and truly customer-service oriented. Highly recommend."

"They don't just clean out your drains, they will do any kind of plumbing.  They changed out the faucet and did some plumbing work for us.  The job was fine, they showed up when they said they would and a nice young man came out.  The work was satisfactory."

"Highly recommend! The communication and execution were top notch. They meticulously packed our things as if they were there own. We drove from Mississippi to Texas and nothing in the truck moved an inch. Thank you!!"

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Knowing the signs can alert you to a clogged drain line. Clogs cause slow drainage or cause no drainage (if there’s a complete blockage). You may also notice foul odors, gurgling noises, water backing up in other appliances on the same line, or a poorly flushing toilet. If you experience any of these issues and think your line might be clogged, call a plumber.

If you're dealing with a clogged sink drain, you may be able to avoid removing the drain by using a plunger to dislodge the clog. While we associate plungers with toilets, they can do the same job with your sink drain. Be gentle, though, as forceful movements can push clogs further into your plumbing system and make them more difficult to remove. Additionally, make sure you’re using a sink plunger—with a flat bottom—and not a toilet plunger—which has a smaller bottom protruding from the larger flat piece.

If methods like hot water or a plunger don’t work on your clogged drain, you can snake your drain to dislodge the plug. This can be a messy process, taking some physical effort and additional time over the other drain-clearing options. You can purchase a drain snake at a hardware store and choose from handheld options or those attached to a drill. Just work slowly, and be ready to call a plumber if you’re unable to reach the clog from your drain or P-trap.

Yes, chemical drain cleaners contain sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, both of which are not only dangerous to your health but also extremely caustic. Drain cleaners will corrode your pipes and could lead to destroyed drain lines, especially if the chemicals interact with the piping for long periods. Unfortunately, this extended interaction is likely if you’re dealing with a clog, as the drain cleaner will have just as much trouble as water does moving through your plumbing system.

There are several common signs that your main sewer line may be clogged. Key indicators include multiple fixtures in your home draining slowly, gurgling sounds coming from drains or toilets, and water backing up into showers, sinks, or toilets. You might also notice water backing up from the plumbing system's drain cleanout, water in your basement drain, or unexplained wet patches on your lawn. Foul odors, such as the smell of raw sewage or rotten eggs, are another common symptom. The most reliable way to confirm a main sewer line clog is to hire a professional plumber to perform a camera inspection.
