"Young man arrived quickly to discuss small projects. He was such a delight speaking with him. Before all was done he repaired a light fixture, removed some broken bulbs, repaired and reinstalled a closet shelf and trimmed the hedges around the property. Would Definitely Recommend!!"

Small jobs welcome

"Reed is an amazing craftsman. He built this beautiful deck for me but he has done countless other projects for both me and my daughter and son-in-law. He has painted, repaired drywall, rebuilt a fireplace, built custom cabinetry, done landscaping projects, replaced flooring and many other projects. He is kind, incredibly skilled and makes sure everything is done perfectly. We consider him part of our family now! I highly recommend Reed!!!"

"These guys were great. Some delays due to weather but they were always on time when the weather was good and they did a fine job. They frequently asked me to look over their work to make sure it met my expectations. If I noticed anything, they never objected and they promptly attended to it. In fact the quality of the work and their attitude was so good, I have decided to hire them to refinish my decks also."

"Jason was very response, polite, and professional. We originally requested a quote for the entire interior to be repainted. The cost was much more than we anticipated. Therefore we adjusted our quote to include only the room that really needed repainting; the master bathroom. Jason provided the quote of $330 and we accepted. A gentleman named Pat performed the painting; he was extremely polite and a master of his craft. The job was done in about 6 hours to our complete satisfaction.

"In the course of remodeling the master bath I had to demo most of the original drywall. I needed someone to then install, tape, float, texture and prime new drywall. Mr. Richard did an outstanding job doing all this. He was punctual and completed the job on time. He does GREAT quality work and I would definitely recommend him. I will certainly use his services in the future."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You should stagger drywall sheets to help prevent cracking. The joints between drywall sheets are the weak spots, so if you install drywall with seams aligned, you’ll create weak lines that run across the length of the wall and extend from floor to ceiling. But when you stagger drywall, the solid sections of panels will support the joints. This can prevent seams from cracking or separating due to fluctuating temperature and humidity, vibrations from movement inside the home, and gravity.

Applying plaster to a wall will usually cost between $2 and $10 per square foot for both the material and labor. The cost will vary based on the quality of the plaster you’re using and whether or not prep work is required before the work begins. Wall prep can add up to about 10% to your total costs. Plastering exterior walls can be more expensive in many cases because they are taller and require scaffolding and safety equipment.

Certain drywall textures, like sand and sometimes popcorn, can be smoothed by applying skim coats, sanding the walls, or chipping away the texture. However, it’s worth considering removing the texture and starting with a blank canvas. Smoothing textured walls requires a lot of sandpaper and elbow grease and can take longer than just outright removing the texture.

Most drywall used for interior walls of homes is 1/2-inch thick. This size strikes a balance of being easy to handle and hang while being thick enough for the durability needed on interior wall applications.

Yes, as drywall mud is going to have some uneven spots and bumps after application. Such imperfections are going to be visible after everything dries and even after you paint the wall, so you want to remove them. Learning how to sand drywall, taking your time, and following drywall sanding tips can help you have the best results.
