"My pro did an excellent job. The completed project was absolutely beautiful. He put in new French drains and also cleaned up a fence line. We will be calling him back for more work."

Small jobs welcome

"In August 2023, I had a slab leak. Mr. Terry from American Plumbing came and did a leak detection. It was a cold water line slab leak and I had to get 1 cold water line rerouted.. Fast forward to January 2024, some tiles in my floor felt warm to touch which I knew had something to do with pipes. I called Mr. Terry from American Plumbing and he came out that following Monday and performed a leak detection. It was a hot water slab leak from 2 lines. This time, Seth and Logan came out the very next day to reroute 2 hot water lines. One to the washer and one to the kitchen sink. These two guys are so awesome. Again, very knowledgeable and answered every question I had without hesitation and without getting annoyed. This company is top tier. From the initial phone call with Chelsie (both times) to Mr. Terry coming out, to Seth and Logan performing the repairs. I recommend this company everytime."

Customers say: Quick response

"We bought a new washer and couldn't hook it up because the hose coupling was frozen to the faucet outlet. I explained the situation over the phone and Reginald stopped by our house after finishing another job. He quickly fixed our problem and did not charge us for a full hour since he was able to take care of the frozen connection in 15 minutes. Nice man, very quick and efficient work."

"The team did a phenomenal job and everything turned out better than expected. We more than tripled our back patio and it looks perfect! The catch basins and drains work better than expected. We recently had over 8" of rain and they handled it perfectly. The zoysia sod looks great and is very healthy. They installed an additional gate in our yard and it also looks great. When we have another outdoor project, I'm not going to call around and get estimates, I'm just going to call Don Broussard and his team to come do the work!"

French Drains questions, answered by experts

Start by unscrewing the overflow valve, which is located on the wall of your tub between the floor drain and the tub spout. Gently insert a plumbing snake down into the pipe, move it back and forth, and pull it out. Remove any hair, debris, and soap scum that comes out with it. Repeat the process until the snake comes out clean, and then reinstall the cap on your overflow valve.

Biodegradable drain cleaners use naturally derived ingredients, such as baking soda, vinegar, and boiling water, which bacteria and other microbes can break down. Unlike conventional cleaners that rely on corrosive bleach (sodium hydroxide), biodegradable options are gentler on fixtures and less harmful to the environment. Because they don't release harmful gasses, they are also safer to use, especially in households with children, and do not require the same safety precautions as bleach-based products.

You may have a clogged gutter. Downspouts can also clog if your gutter collects too much debris. Hire a professional gutter cleaner, and if you still have problems, install a gutter guard (which prevents debris from entering your gutter system) and a downspout extension (which helps drain water further away from your foundation, so it doesn't pool near your house). Follow these tips to keep your gutter downspouts clean.

You can pour hot water down your gutter drain to melt ice and keep ice dams from forming. If the problems persist, consider investing in heat cables to run in your gutters. Heat cables can adjust based on the surrounding temperature to keep ice thawed.

Your sewer line can get grimy quickly. To prevent sludge buildup in your sewer line, pour a mixture of 1/3 cup of vinegar and 1/3 cup of baking soda down each drain in your home once a month. After about 30 minutes, flush the drain with hot water.

Some plumbers recommend 3/4 cup of bleach instead to clean any germs and bacteria that may build up in your sewer line. But this won’t break down any active clogs, and it cannot be combined with vinegar, as the mixture will create a toxic, hazardous gas.
