Our locally owned and operated company is based out of Lexington, Kentucky and serve surrounding counties. Choose Straight Line Painting and experience true quality and customer service.

"Straight Line Painting was contracted to apply a special waterproofing membrane material over the top half of a 180 ft2 stone wall section in front of my house (about 90 ft2). I would do the lower section of the wall. The contractor's portion of the work would require their crew to work off ladders. Because of extensive rain water damage to structural members behind this wall (accumulated over many years and now repaired), a waterproofing material was needed to waterproof this wall. Two products by Semco were selected and purchased by me on line (6 gals of membrane material @ $385 + Semco Stone Soap for surface preparation @ $25 = $410 total). The application of these products required wall surface preparation with the Stone Soap followed by 2 coats of waterproofing material. The Stone Soap and the first waterproofing coat require 1 or 2 days of dry weather (no rain) before and after each application prior to applying the final waterproofing coat. This required the contractor to return on 2 different days after the Stone Soap is applied and rinsed. Straight Line Painting was very accommodating and flexible following this application schedule. We had some rain days during this project and had to adjust the work schedule a couple of times. Straight Line Painting was accommodating and flexible when the schedule had to be changed because of weather. I give Straight Line Painting 5 stars on all aspects of this job. They are responsive, flexible, and professional. Their cost was very reasonable and their work quality was very good to excellent. The total cost of the job was $850 for the contractor (labor only for upper half of wall + $410 for materials which I purchased resulting in a total of $1260."

Cost Cutters Residential & Commercial Remodeling Services, INC., is a general contractor, specializing in a variety of home and business improvement services. Cost Cutters believes in offering quality service at a fraction of the price! Moreover, Cost Cutters will match any verified competitor price, per any service, and give you an additional percentage off your project! All estimate consultations are free, and no job is too big, or too small! Excellent customer service, professionalism, and expedience are just a few of the principles we incorporate into our work!

"I contracted Gary with Cost Cutters to remodel my bathroom. The project which included replacing the tub with a tile shower, taking the walls down to the studs and replacing with drywall, painting and installing a new medicine cabinet. Cost Cutters promised to email us a work schedule for the following week. While we did receive an email with the days Gary would be working, we were never given a timeframe that he would be working. So, we had to be home and available all day without knowing when he might show up or when he would be working until on any particular day. Our work schedules and availability were not took into consideration either. Gary did complete these tasks but his work was shotty especially the medicine cabinet install and drywall. He messed up the ceiling over the shower which he did not fix even after I pointed it out to him. The drywall is already bubbling up at the seems and there are big gaps around the medicine cabinet. Gary repeatedly told me he would make me happy with the job before he left but that was not true. He was finished with the job when he was happy with it not me, the paying customer. It didn’t matter as long as he thought it was good even after we pointed out the issues to him repeatedly. He told us he would not leave the job until we were satisfied with his work and all of our issues were corrected but that was a lie. He told us he would fix the problems but instead we were blamed for the issues that were caused by him trying to rush through the job. About half way through the project it was like anything to get done with my job as fast as possible to move on to the next job. We would not recommend Cost Cutters and will not be using them for any future jobs."

Welcome to my profile! I specialize in the design, fabrication and installation of IKEA kitchen cabinetry, giving you a semi custom kitchen for much less! IKEA kitchens are my specialty, and has been for the last two decades, across northern Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and West Virginia and New Jersey too. It's all I do. IKEA Kitchens are a great value, and you'll keep more money in your pocket than you would with other brands. The quality, fit and finish are very good- I've visited kitchens I've installed 20 years ago and they're still in good condition (my clients know they can reach me anytime after their install should issues arise!). IKEA uses only Blum hardware for door hinges and drawer glides- the best of the best. But IKEA kitchens demand a high degree of precision and has to be installed with this in mind, especially when incorporating wall ovens, micro drawers or other built-in appliances such as Fisher-Paykel, Miehle, etc. Give me a call or send an email about your project! No charge for estimates. Thank you, Erik Gustav Tel:614.483.7110 [email protected] www.ikeatech.com

"Erik was hired to install IKEA cabinets in our home for a full kitchen renovation. I felt confident in assembling the cabinets and finishing them (doors, hardware, drawers, toe kicks, etc) but we wanted a professional to make sure the cabinets were hung level, plumb, and square. From our first conversation it was obvious that Erik is an expert in all things IKEA. He provided some guidance and changes to our design to make some subtle improvements that would not have been obvious to us. He also immediately identified a critical flaw in our design that would have greatly impacted the final outcome but luckily we had enough time to get the proper replaced item. Communication with Erik was decent but be prepared for patience with emails and texts. Phone calls seemed to be most effective. Also be prepared to be patient for his schedule. Despite our efforts to plan ahead and get on “his radar” back in July, it still took several rounds of calls and discussions to finally get a week nailed down and the arrival day wasn’t determined until the week-of. You will need to be flexible. The installation was very fast - he had all of the work completed in one day. He is also very precise and detailed. He took time to show me how cabinets were anchored to the wall, that cabinets were level and prepped for the countertop template. He also cleaned up nicely, was courteous in our home and has a professional demeanor. The installation wasn’t without issue though. He accidentally stepped on a weak piece of our corner cabinet and broke it. His solution was to “sister” a piece below it. I was told it wouldn’t affect the countertops as this had no load bearing properties and it won’t be visible once countertops are installed. I believe that he is correct, and accidents happen, but it was disappointing as mishaps was something I wanted to avoid and large reason why we elected to hire someone rather than do the installation ourselves. No adjustment was made to the agreed upon price to account for the broken cabinet which I felt would have been the appropriate thing to do even it was a minor reduction. Overall, I would hire Erik again and be better prepared to be patient and clearly a communicate my expectations. He is precise, detailed, and very knowledgeable on IKEA systems. His involvement resulted in a nice overall outcome."

Furniture Refinishing questions, answered by experts

If you recently splashed paint on the wrong area of a wooden object, remove it with a solvent or caustic paint stripper. Some paint that has yet to dry may be removable by hand with coarse sandpaper or a plastic scraper. Another trick for removing dried-on paint is rubbing a dab of nail polish remover on the paint to remove it, but avoid touching the bare wood surface.

Clean regularly, avoid overloading shelves, and address scratches or dents promptly.

Yes, refinishing can decrease or even diminish the value of antique furniture, as most collectors look for original finishes to maintain the piece’s historical integrity. Learning how to clean antique wood and carefully restore the finish without stripping it is the best way to maintain the piece’s original value. Either way, it’s best to take it to a professional furniture refinishing and restoration expert rather than attempting a DIY restoration.

Yes, you can fill rotten wood with expanding foam. You may prefer using an expanding foam treatment instead of wood filler since the latter can take a long time to dry. It may also provide an easier solution when you’re dealing with smaller gaps. If you use expanding foam, allow it to cure for about 24 hours before you sand and prime it.

Yes, many custom builders offer finishing and upholstery options tailored to your style.
