Customers say: Quality work

"Jose is top-shelf. His word is gold and that means a lot. He doesnâ t avoid texts or calls. He is very prompt and honestâ ¦.the latter is rare in this industry. H&M replaced my full roof, gutters, downspouts, chimney caps and fascia board coverings. He guarantees his work and although I hope to never need it, itâ s reassuring to have. If needed Iâ d allow him to work on my motherâ s roof without hesitation."

"I absolutely loved the roof from RAM roofing. Isaac and his team are efficient, friendly, and hard working. I had a leak in the roof. I was initially going to do a repair on the affected area, but after inspection, we decided to replace the entire roof and the wood underlay. I am so happy with the work they did and it looks absolutely great. I love the smooth look to the finish. Thanks again!"

Customers say: True professional

"I reached out to Brian on a Saturday due to the roof leak and needing a tarp put on before the rain comes. He came the same day and instead of just giving me a temporary fix with the tarp, he fixed the problem at a reasonable price."

"I am so thankful I was able to find Craftsmen Roofing to help when we were in the process of selling our house. They made time for us super quick, Jason McLennan was so helpful in explaining everything from the insurance process to our specific roof details. I would highly recommend!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Building code allows 24-inch on-center spacing for roof trusses. However, you can install them on 12- or 16-inch centers to handle large loads or other exceptional circumstances. In cases such as covering a wide span or supporting alternative roofing materials, where a structural engineer needs to evaluate or create a design for your trusses, the plans will indicate the spacing.

Venting a gas water heater out of the roof is preferable in most cases. Heated exhaust gases naturally rise, so a vertical vent pipe is efficient. If you’re trying to vent through a pipe exiting a wall, the angle of the pipe may be more horizontal than vertical, making the venting system less effective. If you go through a wall, you may need to add a fan to ensure a successful expulsion of the gases outdoors.

Yes, gable vents can let water in. That being said, this usually only occurs during extreme conditions like heavy rainfall. You can prevent water from entering through gable vents by adding a screen that traps the water before it can enter.

Heated roofs are a preventative measure and don’t have an outsized effect on your home’s value, so there is no definitive answer to this question. If you diligently monitor your roof in colder months, ensuring there is never snow or ice buildup then no, maybe they aren’t worth it. However, who really watches their roof every day or goes out in freezing weather to rake the roof? For most people worried about roof damage in the winter, heated roofs are a good investment.

Yes, because it prevents water damage, deters pests from accessing the roof decking, protects the roof from wind damage, and lengthens the roof's life. Plus, building codes require it.
