"Excellent job removing a large soft maple tree that was hanging over our house. Michael also trimmed some other trees and cut down another large soft maple in our backyard. The crew was here for 3 days completing the job. They cleaned up and left our property like they had found it. They had to remove part of our fence to get into the backyard but made sure to put it back up every night before leaving so our pups wouldn't get out. Michael made sure to check our other trees for any signs of damage or disease that might come up in the future. He found some areas in a large poplar tree that show that the tree is hallowing out. He took the time to explain everything to us. He'll be coming back next spring/summer to remove our poplar and some trees for our neighbors. We asked to keep the wood from our trees to use in our wood burner and they made sure to stack it up neatly in the spot we told them. I can't recommend Turner Tree service enough!"

Small jobs welcome

"I had a tree removed and the stump removed. They did an amazing job! No hint that the tree or stump even existed! The area that the tree and stump was removed was left cleaner than before it was removed! Priced very reasonably and the quality of their work is even more amazing! I would highly recommend Rustic Lawnscape for any outdoor work youâ re looking to have done!"

"Cameron, the owner of Grindall, and helpers were wonderful and my husband and I were able to get everything done that we needed. A total yard clean up! Shrubs, small trees trimming, mulching, weeding. They listened to all or needs and met them! Price was right for all the hard work they did. Will definitely have them back again."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

In most cases, you should not use a pruning seal on trees after trimming. Applying a sealant can interfere with the tree's natural healing process, and it does not guarantee protection from pathogens. Instead of sealing the cut, the best practice is to support the tree's natural recovery by providing it with plenty of water and a dormant-style fertilizer. However, there are exceptions. Pruning seals may be recommended for very vulnerable species, like elm trees, in areas where dangerous diseases such as Dutch elm disease are prevalent. In these specific situations, the protection offered by a sealant can outweigh its downsides. For advice tailored to your situation, especially after cutting large branches, it is best to consult a local tree trimming professional.

Palm trees are unique in that their roots don't grow straight down; they grow horizontally. Typically, palm tree roots go down between 12 and 36 inches deep. The roots grow far and wide from the base of the palm tree to absorb as much water and soil nutrients as possible. In addition, the horizontal roots are also very strong—keeping palm trees stable and helping them sway during storms.

You can remove a small tree from your yard if there’s space for the tree to fall, you have the right tools and safety equipment, and you follow a clear plan of action. You’ll just want to follow the steps above carefully, and ideally, you will have experience doing similar tasks. If you have any doubts that you can do this project safely, though, you should hire a pro.

If you don’t cut down a dead, dying, or diseased tree, it can become a nesting place for pests like mosquitos, bees, beetles, wasps, fly larvae, and more. Some pests will live in the tree, while others will feed off the decaying wood. Unhealthy trees are also more likely to fall over, potentially injuring people and causing damage to your property.
