She stated that she didn't want to give estimates over the phone, which I was fine with, and we set a time to meet so she could look my house. She and her sister arrived on time and I was quoted $200 and since the price was very reasonable, I gave her the job. She told me she'd be there on Sat. between 9 and 9:30am. Unfortunately, we didn't exchange numbers and I didn't call Friday to confirm. Saturday at 10:30am, Sharon had not arrived. I called her to find out what was going on and she was still at home trying to find childcare. She told me that she didn't have a number to reach me (which she didn't), but she was on her way. An hour later (11:30am) she, her sister and her niece showed up to clean. I was hoping they could be finished by 4:00 since I had other 2 other sets of plans that evening and I was thinking 7 hours (9-4) would have been ample time to complete the job; she felt pretty sure that she could be done by then. Changing my plans twice, I told her that if she could be finished by 5:30 at the latest, that was OK, as I didn’t want her and team rushing and not doing a good job. I ended up leaving and told her to call me about 30 minutes before she was done so I could head back over to pay her. She called at 5:10pm to tell me they were wrapping things up. Once I got back, I did look through the house and what I saw looked incredibly clean! I got to the master bathroom and noticed the film of hairspray residue was still caked on the floor and there was still soap scum on the floor of the bathtub. That bathtub has very tiny grooves which makes it incredibly hard to clean, but I can get it clean with a stiff bristle brush and Clorox. I told Sharon that both had not been cleaned well. She told me niece was back there and used “Magic Erasers” on the tub. She didn’t say anything about her niece mentioning the hairspray on the floor. I told Sharon that I would go back and fix it (although I wish I hadn’t done that), but I think what frustrated me the most about that was that she didn’t offer to go back there and take a look at it and/or help remedy it. She did tell me that Windex should take hairspray right up. I went back to the house the next day to finish up the bathroom and noticed more of the tub had not been cleaned well (grooves on the side, front and back). I will say that the work Sharon and sister did was thorough. There were a few cobwebs still on the wall in the kitchen, but that’s an easy fix. It seems like there should have been more supervision with her niece, that’s hard to say since I wasn’t there the whole time. I did find 2 cigarette butts in my driveway the next morning and know at least 2 out of the 3 ladies smoke. Again, that’s not a major deal, but something that was a little careless, since I nor do my neighbors smoke. I do appreciate now not having to worry about the cleaning and can focus my energy on other aspects of the house."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ky/lexington/sharon-williams-reviews-495131.htm"},"position":5},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"BLUEGRASS DECORATIVE CONCRETE","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"KY","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"TRAVIS H."},"reviewBody":"Terrible. The patio sloped 18 from front to back and 7 from side to side. The center of the patio was so wavy that you could not get all of the legs on a piece of furniture to hit the ground at the same time. He did not put any base color in the concrete for the stamped border, so it came out mostly grey instead of brown. The brush finish in the middle of the patio was a mess because the broom he brought to do the finish was taped together and kept falling apart. He only brought one helper so the concrete dried too fast for the stamping to make a good impression. He smashed my existing landscape border in several spots with the concrete truck to save himself the work of transporting the concrete with the bobcat. The steps he built were unleveled and he broke the corner off of one of them with the bobcat. He was supposed to supply enough dirt to level out the ground around the patio but he only brought in one small truckload. This was not even enough dirt to pack around the edges of the patio and keep the gravel packed underneath the pad. This also left the steps well short of reaching level ground. After a couple of weeks and tons of un-returned phone calls trying to get him to come back and address these problems, I finally reached his mother at the address listed on his estimate sheet. He did call back after that and said that he would come back out and re-pour the pad so it would be level. After a few no-shows, he finally showed up with a crew. We agreed (his idea) that he would tear out the front half of the patio so that he could connect it to the original concrete and then he would just pour over the back half to bring it up to the correct level. I stood there with them while they cut the pad in half, then I went inside. I looked out the window ten minutes later and they were gone, never to return. When I reached Jason the next day, he told me that he had decided that the patio looked fine and only sloped three or four inches like it should, and he was not going to re-pour it. Keep in mind that he had already taken a saw and cut it in half. He did say that he would come back out and try to put some stain on the border to try to make that look better. I told him to come on back and we d look at the level and tape measure it together and I would show him again that it sloped 18 , not 4 . I spent the next two days waiting at home for him to show up, as he kept telling me he would be heading my way as soon as he finished this or that. He never showed and stopped taking my calls. I m pretty tight with money and pretty handy, so if there was any way to bring his work to an acceptable level I would have done it. The patio was simply unusable and an eyesore. I ended up having someone else come out and tear out all of his work and start completely over. So not only did he take my money and run, it cost me almost $1000 to clean up his mess and get back to my original starting point."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ky/nicholasville/bluegrass-decorative-concrete-reviews-2038106.htm"},"position":6}]}

He knocked out the drywall behind the shower, removed the faucet and capped off the lines and said, "Don't have time to fix this today but it's not leaking now." Didn't know what "ghost flushing" meant, snaked out the toilet, said would have to remove toilet, did so, then snaked out the line...

Terrible! The workers were never prepared when they came to work. Two people showed up to stain the pergolas with paint brushes. THEN, one person came to stain a 1600 square foot deck with a SMALL paint brush. It took over two weeks to complete the stain, and the whole project was supposed to...

"For two weeks, I waited for responses to get estimates for two evergreens I had to get trimmed back and shaped. I finally got one reply, but the estimate was way too high. I decided to go through Angi's and later that same afternoon, Sergio called. A couple days later, he arrived, gave me a reasonable estimate, and even agreed to trim back a cedar that was encroaching on my neighbor's property, for a small additional amount. I was not home when he did the job, but he trusted me enough to get his payment at another time. How incredible is that! He was professional, courteous, and did a fine job."

Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.

On the inexpensive end, red and black mulch are about $35 to $40 per cubic yard, and are typically made from recycled waste wood like shredded old pallets or deck material. Cedar, cypress, and rubber mulch cost anywhere from $100 to $120 per cubic yard. A pro can help you determine the type of mulch most suitable for your landscaping needs.
