"Window Genie of Lexington were fast, professional, and did their work with care. We inquired about their Christmas Light service. They got back to me within an hour of me requesting a quote. They were able to send out a technician and installers in a very timely manner. Everyone was friendly and their work is top notch. Our house looks like something out of Hallmark! Although we personally didn’t look around and get more quotes, a neighbor told us that they are the cheapest and most professional in the area and I believe it. The lights they installed are rentals, and if anything goes wrong you call them and they will come out and handle it. In conclusion, I’m so glad I chose Window Genie and you will be too!"

"Mr. Workman did renovations on a full bath and the powder room. Both rooms had rotted floors under the toilets, so that all had to be torn out and repaired The full bath needed drywall repair and painting. He installed a glass shower door on the tub and installed tile trim around the existing tub walls. He tiled the floor and painted the whole room and installed a new light fixture. The Powder room had a totally rotted floor under the toilet. He tiled the floor and the walls up to about 4'. He painted the ceiling where it had water damage from leaks on the floor above. He repaired the existing wallpaper above the new tile."

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

Christmas light cords are long, thin, and flexible—which makes them exceptionally prone to tangling. As you try to untangle the very merry mess, the light bulbs and sockets may catch on the cords, making it even harder to pull cords through the knots.

Safe installation involves using appropriate anchors for weight and weather-resistant fixtures, ensuring all connections are secure and safe from water exposure. Removal should be performed carefully, avoiding pulling or yanking on cables to prevent damage to lighting and home exteriors.

The simplest way to put Christmas lights on any metal surface is by using a magnetic hook or clip. You can also purchase magnetic lights, which should easily stick to any magnetic surface. Keep in mind that not all metals are magnetic. In that case, you’ll need to use a different clip.

To hang Christmas lights outside without nails, consider using alternatives like adhesive hooks, gutter clips, or even hot glue. These options allow you to secure lights to various surfaces without causing damage to your roof or siding. Be sure to clean and prepare the surface before applying these alternatives for better adhesion.

One of the easiest ways to save money when hiring a holiday decorator is to provide storage for your decorations. If you have the space, you can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars by avoiding storage costs through your professional. It’s also a good idea to provide as much direction as possible for your professional, as this can cut down on design services. Finally, you can pay for your decorator to take down your decorations at the end of the season, but packaging and storing them yourself will save money on labor.
