Added a Sunroom and turned an unfinished basement into an apartment. Distinctive Design did a fantastic job. They were more than willing to work with me when I wanted to change the dimensions of a room because they understand things can change. We used DDR to build an addition to our house and we are so pleased!! Our project manager, Nate, was very communicative and easy to work with and all parties involved were mindful of our children and pets during the addition process. In short: very pleased with the job. In long: DDR began work on our basement (1,300 sq ft) on April 10. I tracked the hours worked by every employee as well as every bit of material that came into our home?After pricing it all out, I feel that DDR over-charged for their service?. however, I do not mind that I paid a premium price because they got the job done to such a high standard and in such a brief amount of time ? in only 1 month! (We were delaying our vacation until they finished, so their expeditious scheduling was of paramount importance to us) All in all, great team, great quality, very fast, very professional, truly listened and applied our preferences (thanks again, Cody!),? you?ll pay a premium ? but it was completely worth it in our case.

We needed more space for offices on the first floor and a master bathroom with a second closet for my wife on the second floor, and couldn’t be more pleased with the result. We love the Saint Matthews area and wanted to stay in the neighborhood, but we had to have more room in the house for the family. Our plan for the addition came closer to the property boundaries than the dated zoning rules allowed for. DDR got us approved for the variance and permits we needed with no problems. The workers were all very nice, polite, and courteous to me and my wife. They kept the rest of the house clean while they worked and were very responsive to our questions and ideas. We highly recommend DDR for any remodeling projects and plan to do business with them again.

DDR did it again, About a year ago DDR did a covered patio for us and they did a great job so we decided to have them out for a bigger job. We had them do an addition on our home, we added a master suite with a bath and walk in closet, they also added a half bath for our pool area. All I can say is if you are having any work done on you home you don't need to look anywhere else because this company is awesome. The way they communicate is amazing. Our project manager Nate is the best, I truly feel that this job wouldn't of been so smooth if it wasn't for him. He communicates so well that you almost don't need to do anything because he is on top of everything. Nate and DDR took what is usually a stressful endeavor and had me at ease for the entire build. All of their workers were professional and I always felt comfortable with them in my home. Thanks again Nate and DDR for the great job and for making my house a home.

Most of us like spending time outside when the weather is nice, and nothing fits that desire better (for us older folks) than a covered back deck or patio. We purchased our current home in 2018 as the second owners and almost immediately added a Sunsetter ® Motorized Awning for shade. That was a start; however, it didn’t protect us from the bugs, and we wanted it to be taller with a ceiling fan large enough to keep us cool. So, in the middle of last year, my wife Diana started looking at contractors that could cover and screen in a small (10’ X 16’) back deck. We planned to relocate the motorized awning to the concrete patio that was adjacent to the back deck (so we didn’t waste the awning!). My wife, Diana, chose DDR. The Managing Partner, Jesse Haffley, came to see what we wanted and, on the spot, based on the decisions that he led us through, was able to give us a fixed price quote. This company is efficient and professional. The work outlined was exactly as we discussed. All the contractors worked diligently not wasting time. When they needed to be in our home while we weren’t there, we could be comfortable knowing that they were going straight to work. Any issues that were noted were addressed as fast as possible. We had an absolutely wonderful experience working with DDR to demolish an old detached garage and build a new one. They were responsive, open to questions, and project manager Chris checked in with me multiple times a week to keep me up to date. Even working in January and February, with limited weather availability, they got it done more quickly than we expected! It looks gorgeous and we are very glad we went with DDR!
