"The initial call with Hannah could not of been more professional. The text introduction of the technician Alex with a photo and description of his past work could not have been more professional. Both Mory and Alex went above and beyond to repair and install a chandelier the weigh over 125lbs, reinforced the 14â ceiling, checked all the electrical wiring in the attic, and stayed until the job was completed. It far exceeded my expectations. It hard to find professional, courteous, and experienced people these days. By far the best experience Iâ ve ever had."

"Tankless water heaters are a bit unique, so was thrilled to find that Tom Drexlers was qualified to help. But because the water heater was so old, part were almost nonexistent. Tim helped me work through whether I should take a gamble and try to repair this older heater, or scrap it and replace it with a better more reliable tankless. His input was invaluable. I wasn't happy with the cost of the new equipment, but that's the miser in me. It was pretty clear that I was getting a quality unit that will last significantly better than the Home Depot model I had. Tim did a great job with the installation, I would definitely hire again! :-)"

"The furnace took 4 days to get approved( not counting a Sunday) the others were quick but the water heater had to be ordered so without hot water for a week. One ceiling fan was easy but within a year their policy changed and They would not install the one I purchased and had to get a new one approved and then ordered online and took several weeks to get straightened out. Not sure who was at fault, AHS, installer or scheduling with renter. Fee is usually $75 per visit"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

The more surface area that a ceiling fan blade has, the more effective it will be at producing airflow. Therefore, a longer ceiling fan blade is the better option if you’re looking for more wind. However, a longer blade will consume more energy than a shorter blade.

The direction your ceiling fan spins helps create comfortable airflow in your home and can also help cut down on energy costs.

During summer, your ceiling fan should spin counterclockwise. This will push cooler air downward in a column and help lower your room’s air temperature. In the winter, set your ceiling fan to spin clockwise and at the lowest speed setting. This will pull cool air upwards, displacing the warm air that pools towards the top of your ceiling and bringing it down towards the floor.

Ceiling fans can be a great way to cool your home without the expensive utility bill of running an air conditioner. Plus, ceiling fans can sometimes run in both directions, pushing hot air down in winter and pulling cold air up in summer. With that said, air conditioning might be the only thing that helps if you live in a very warm climate.

To determine if your ceiling box can support a fan, you must check if it is specifically fan-rated. Manufacturers are required to indicate this on the box itself. You may need to remove the existing light fixture to look inside the ceiling box for an inscription stating it is rated for fan use. If you do not see this confirmation, the box is likely not strong enough and must be replaced with a fan-rated junction box. For a proper and safe installation, you should also use a fan brace to secure the new box between the ceiling joists, which provides the necessary support for the fan's weight and motion.

If you’re removing a ceiling fan without visible screws, start by locating the fan canopy—a round cover placed above the fan blades and motor. There should be a thin ring that can be turned counterclockwise to remove the canopy and reveal the screws. After unscrewing the fan, you can disconnect the wires and remove the entire fan from the mounting hardware. For safety, make sure the fan switch is turned off before you remove the canopy. It may be easier to remove the fan blades first, too.
