Tom Drexler Plumbing, Air & Electric was founded in 1982 by 4th generation Master Plumber, Tom Drexler. We are now one the area's largest home service provider. We offer plumbing, heating and cooling, indoor air quality, electrical, and other home services. Our highly qualified & expertly trained employees can help with any home repair services you may need.

"I typically do not leave reviews, but my experience with Tom Drexler Plumbing was so poor that I feel compelled to share it in hopes of preventing others from wasting their time and money. I initially contacted the company to address a leaking faucet in a spare bathroom. I was given a vague appointment window of 8 AM to 5 PM and informed that if I didn’t answer a call prior to their arrival, the technician would not show up. When the technician arrived, he spent time criticizing the company’s hiring practices rather than focusing on the repair. He determined that a full tub and shower replacement was needed, quoting over $1,000. The work could not be done the same day, requiring me to schedule another appointment. The technician arrived late and took the entire day to complete the job, spending a significant portion of time sitting on my staircase visibly exhausted. The installation was subpar—both the faucet and showerhead were protruding nearly two inches from the wall, and the showerhead was visibly crooked. The faucet and showerhead were protruding so far out they couldn't even be caulked. My wife documented the issues with photos. She sent them to me after the tech left. I immediately called Tom Drexler, informed them of the subpar work, and requested a different technician to correct the poor workmanship. A new technician arrived the following week and made the necessary adjustments. However, within four days of using the shower, a leak developed in the ceiling of the kitchen below, and our toilet began leaking from the base when flushed—suggesting possible plumbing pressure or blockage issues. I contacted the company again and scheduled yet another appointment. Despite being given the same 8 AM to 5 PM time frame, no one showed up, and I had to follow up myself to learn the technician wasn’t coming. Eventually, another technician did visit and claimed the ceiling leak was due to "residual water" and dismissed the toilet issue. When the ceiling stain continued to grow, I called again and requested a supervisor. The supervisor came a week later, concluded that the issue wasn’t related to their work, and left without offering any solutions. Altogether, I had to take four days off work to accommodate this series of visits. I now need to hire another plumber from a different company to resolve the ongoing leak. Based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Tom Drexler Plumbing. The quality of work, communication, and overall customer service were consistently poor throughout the entire process."

Customers say: Terrific value

Coleman Construction Company is veteran-owned remodeling company serving Lexington, Louisville, and most parts of Central Kentucky. If you’re looking to remodel, add-on, refinish, upgrade, or repair - Coleman Construction will listen and guide you down the path to completion of the project of your dreams! Gives us a call and tell us what you’re working with let us take it from there - a complicated project needn’t be complicated!

"Chris and crew did a demo and rebuild of our deck. Everything started out great. The team moved quickly and efficiently. Several of the employees had to be let go for showing up to work under the influence. I'm almost a weekly basis I was asked for an advance so they could meet payroll. The crew would inevitably show up late almost every day and would rarely put in an 8-hour day. Boards were warping and cracking. The stain was put down way too early and will now need to be sanded to the bare wood and replied according to the manufacturer. The electrical work that they had started was not up to code. I have had to hire an outside electrician to clean up that mess. I don't have a lot of complaints about the actual deck itself, it's very solid and sturdy. The project was left unfinished after over 100 days on the job. One employee who showed up under the influence is still working there. Lack of time management and money management was a huge concern. If you hire this company do not give any money after your deposit until the job is complete and have a solid exit date on the contract. I paid 93% of the overall price and nowhere near got 93% of the work. Personally, I would advise you to save yourself the headache and not hire this company."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Many ceiling fan-rated electrical boxes tend to be made of metal. However, some electrical boxes may also be made of heavy-duty plastic that is reinforced with metal support structures. It may also have an attachment that connects directly to a ceiling joist. If you are ever ensure, consult with a licensed professional to get their insight on best practices and whether the installation is a safe one.

Fans not turning on, wobbling, noisy motors, or faulty remote controls are common issues requiring repair.

There are many types of ceiling fans, from self-automated smart ceiling fans to outdoor ceiling fans that provide additional comfort to your patio. What you choose all comes down to function and personal taste.

Consider your ceiling height when selecting a ceiling fan. Rooms with ceilings under eight feet high will do well with low-profile ceiling fans, also known as flush-mount or hugger ceiling fans. If your home has cathedral ceilings or ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, you’ll need a large ceiling fan with a heavy-duty motor to get adequate air circulation.

The most efficient ceiling fan height is 8 to 9 feet from the floor to the fan blades. For ceilings higher than 9 feet, a downrod can be used to lower the fan to the optimal height. This positioning ensures adequate air circulation and maximizes the cooling effect. Remember, fans should be installed at least 7 feet above the floor for safety.

The direction you want your ceiling fan to move in depends on the season you’re in. During summer, you want it to move counterclockwise to produce a cooling downdraft. During winter, you want it to move clockwise to circulate warm air throughout the room.
