"Gordon Construction is awesome! Tanya was prompt in responding to my request for a deck repair. She sent me my estimate as quickly as she could. I am extremely impressed with Austin and his partner! They re great time managers, highly professional young men, and are very knowledgeable of what they do! I will definitely call them back for every single home improvement project I will have in the future."

"Randy was very knowledgeable and resourceful and stayed until the job was done. There was a pole that was missing the hole for the screw and he whipped out his drill and worked around it to make sure the basketball goal assembly would be completed in time for Christmas. He even smoothed the service after it was completed where the hole was drilled for safety. He is a welder and I could tell by his work he knew what he was doing. The job was supposed to be 3 hours but took 4 because of the missing part. I would hire again."

Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts

Any type of construction that damages a tree’s roots via soil compaction can be dangerous, and is one of the primary causes of mature tree death in residential areas. Simply putting lots of weight on the ground around the tree, like construction supplies, trailers, and equipment, can kill roots near the surface. Of course, installing new foundations, patios, or utility lines can cut through nearby tree roots. Accidentally striking a tree with equipment or supplies is rarely a problem, but can cause damage of its own, too.

The foundation for a pole barn should be at least 36 inches thick to ensure that the piers won’t shift from frost heave.

In the U.S., original and converted carriage houses are most often found in New England, New York, and other parts of the Northeast. New construction carriage houses can be found across the country, and are often added to properties with Colonial-style homes for additional living, storage, or work space, although they can be found in many different styles.

Yes, barndominiums are designed to withstand strong weather and severe storms if they are built properly by trained professionals. Most barndominiums are made up of a steel structure that can protect a building from winds of up to 150 miles per hour and resist a variety of weather conditions without a major risk of structural damage to the exterior, foundation, or frame.

The maximum size of a tiny home you can move depends on your state transportation guidelines, but the rule of thumb is a maximum of 400 square feet. However, as long as it falls within the local limits for traveling on public roadways, you should be good to hit the road.
