We are a local family owned and operated small business serving the Topeka area since 2014. Our team has over 35 years of plumbing experience. The master plumber is a 4th generation in his family. Emergency and same day services available when possible. We specialize in drain cleaning and sewer repairs but can cover all your plumbing needs. Free estimates. Residential and commercial services available. Our team has a wide variety of skills to get your job done. The goal we set for Hotshot Plumbing is to provide a job done right at a fair price to our customer.

"They did a terrible job. My pipes leaked after they redid them all because they forgot to glue them together and it damaged sheet rock, flooring and subflooring. After the job was done they handed me a bill for 2 times the amount bid and on the bid was all the damages that they cause and fixed. They are trying to charge me for fixing their mistakes."

24/7 Plumbing Emergency Services are Available: We are a small family owned and operated plumbing company out of Topeka, Kansas. We are here to provide the highest quality service at honest, smart, and affordable prices to our customers. Being a home owner we understand the responsibilities and cost of even the smallest repairs. We treat every customer as a part of the family and will not recommend anything we would not do for ourselves.

"Beware! A2B Plumbing used legal threat to intimidate us after walking off the job and refusing to respond to email requests for resolution. The offer letter and subsequent communication, from his attorney claimed no knowledge of damages to my home, poor project planning, poor installation, and breach of contract. He was in fact, requiring extensive additional fees for completion with lessor materials and without correction of damage. (IE: Cut floor joist under deep soak tub, basic plumbing and ordering errors etc…) Even after we paid for a professional inspection, he continued to deny the facts of this contract and is still relying heavily on his vague, poorly written estimate in attempts to avoid responsibility. Even double billing for inferior fixtures while refusing credit for the more expensive ones he could not install. (in the order manifest he left behind with the mess he also left.) Mr. Roach continues to refuse reasonable settlement offers and driving up attorney fees a year later. He has consistently stated he could not “afford” to complete the job then could not afford to settle, then after I forced Insurance assist, he continues to shirk responsibility wherever possible. We have now been informed we will never be able to recoup all expenses... A year later we are still dealing with lawyers and my Bath is still destroyed!"

A-1 Pump has been in business in the Emporia area for the past 2 years. We have worked mostly in the commercial market up to this point, however the acquisition of new equipment and staff has given us the resources to expand into the residential market. We cover the entire east central region of Kansas. We also have 24 hour emergency service available to any customer. As one of our core business segments, A-1 takes pride in offering a wide range of services to commercial facilities. These services range from routine pumping of pits and catch basins to thorough cleaning of system drain lines with our proprietary methods to maximize system performance and reduce the “B.O.D.” in waste water. In some cases we are able to reduce sewage surcharges by more than enough to totally pay for the services we provide. Sludge hauling and disposal are also significant parts of our operation. A-1 is licensed by the State of Kansas to land apply Beneficial Use Industrial Byproducts. We utilize a combination of managed and owned property, to insure year round access and to guarantee that our program operates at a 100% compliance rate with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Even with a high-resolution camera, what you're looking at on the screen may not be recognizable to the untrained eye. Your plumber should be willing to walk you through the video and explain what they found. With high-res images, bright lighting, and self-leveling technology, you should get clear, steady views of the pipes that make up your plumbing system.

No, you typically cannot use metal detectors to find your sewer line. Most sewer lines are made of non-metallic materials such as PVC, clay, or cast iron, which are not detectable by standard metal detectors. Metal detectors are designed to locate metallic objects, so they won't be effective for identifying the path of a non-metallic sewer line. To locate your sewer line accurately, it's best to use other methods.

The cost to clean a sewer line is about $370, ranging from about $190 to $550 on average. The specific cleaning method and the problem's severity will impact the project's overall cost. Some of the most common sewer line cleaning methods include:

  • Snaking or rodding: $100–$250

  • Hydrojetting: $350–$600

  • Chemical treatments: $600–$1,000

  • Repair or replacement: $1,000–$7,500

If you want to avoid using a snake to unclog a drain, or if you don’t have one, try vinegar and baking soda. Pour 1 cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by 1 cup of white vinegar. Wait for 15 minutes, and then run hot water (but not boiling water) down the drain to see if the clog is clear. Repeat multiple times as needed.

To get rid of a sewer smell in your crawl space, you’ll have to find the source of the problem. If it has to do with your sewer lines, then repairing the line will help. You may need to make other repairs, like fixing your sump pump or encapsulating your crawl space to reduce moisture. After you make the repair, depending on the issue, you may still need to clean out your crawl space to get rid of the stink.
