Mini Farm And Decor can update your kitchen at a small fraction of the cost of new cabinets. More and more Referrals came in until the owner decided to painted and decorate full time. Mini Farm can walk you through updating your kitchen or any space in your home at any budget. That is what sets us apart from the other competitors. Customers Service is what started the business and will continue to grow it. The number one goal is making you fall in love with your space again with $500.00 or $50,000

"We hired Rachel for our kitchen cabinet painting. From the first time we began communication, to the consultation, and through the project to the end, she was always friendly, professional, and punctual. We were very happy with the end result! We would def hire her again for any painting or at home projects."

Cabinet Refacing and Refinishing questions, answered by experts

It is possible to refinish your own cabinets, but it’s usually a better idea to leave the work to a cabinetry professional. Refinishing cabinets is a time- and labor-intensive process that involves stripping the old finish off, sanding down every face of the cabinets and doors, and then adding multiple coats of paint and protective finish. Not only is this hard work, but getting the final product to look clean and professional is challenging. An expert will be able to make quick work of the project and leave you with a final product you’ll love.

If you don't sand your cabinets, the new paint or stain won’t adhere properly, impacting the final finish and leading to peeling, chipping, or a sloppy result that won't stand the test of time. Sanding removes the old finish, smooths imperfections, and gives the new coat something to grip. Without it, you will waste your time, money, and effort.

Small to medium-sized cabinetry typically takes three to five days, whereas large cabinetry takes around seven days. The complete process includes:

  • Removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware.

  • Removing the existing stain or paint.

  • Sanding cabinet frames, doors, and drawers.

  • Staining each side of the cabinetry one at a time. You’ll have to wait for the first side to dry before staining the other side.

  • Waiting for the doors, drawers, and frames to dry fully.

  • Reattaching hardware and hinges.

  • Putting the doors and drawers back on the cabinet boxes.

Ensuring longevity involves using high-quality materials, carefully maintaining veneer surfaces, promptly repairing scratches or imperfections, and cleaning using appropriate solutions.

The cost of cabinet refinishing is $3,000 on average but can range between $700 to $6,000 or more, depending on the size of your cabinets and their location in your home. Since kitchen cabinets are often much larger than other cabinets in your home, the cost of refinishing these is higher than others, ranging from $1,500 to $5,000. In contrast, smaller bathroom cabinets cost an average of $200 to $2,000 to refinish. The refinishing method also impacts the total cost, with cabinet staining being the most cost-effective option, from $4 to $10 per square foot.
