"Josh contacted, met me, and he started working the first day l reach out. Josh was professional, deliberate and fixed the problem l was having with my front door. He was able to fix it faster than expected so instead of leaving, he proactively offered to fix a few additional problems l was having. Very dependable"

"This is a great team. I had some serious roofing issues that were in great need of repair, living in a 70 year old house there are always problems. Pete and Chris came out to assess the situation and listened to my concerns. The repairs were done within a few hours of the scheduled appointment and Bobby did a wonderful job. They are professional and personable and I felt their pricing was in line with the job that was performed. I feel confident with this team and will continue to have them work on future projects."

"They actually did two separate minor kitchen remodeling projects for me. The first was an OUTSTANDING experience all around but the second didn't go that great (and I am having to spend money to fix it) so YOUR experience will totally depend on who does the work - it is hit or miss. I do want to say that Laurie (the manager) was good to work with and communicates well. The first project was very fairly priced and Dan did GREAT carpentry work removing my built ins and installing a free standing stove and microwave (involved cutting down the cupboard above it to get it to fit). He also asked a lot of questions about how I wanted it to look and took good care to make sure that it was done right. For the second project, I got someone else in spite of asking for the same guy. It was also a lot more expensive the 2nd time (maybe they underbid the first project???) - and more than I thought I should have paid for the work done ($800 to take down a light box and install pendants???). He took down a light box, installed two pendants over an island, removed the inlaid stove top and installed a butcher block on the island and built a shelf under the overhang on the end. This guy, on the other hand, didn't ask enough questions and ended up installing the lights in the wrong place and moving them basically made my ceiling look like crap. And, although the shelf looks "okay", he used cheaper materials than I would have preferred for the shelves. It was one of those projects where you complain and they come and change things but never really meets your needs so you just give up and live with it and then hire someone else to fix it."

Small jobs welcome

"We had a great experience working with Mike. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs work completed around the house. He framed out some duct work, dry walled and painted it. Great quality work at a very reasonable price. have no complaints at all. I will call him again for my next project and you should too."

"WD construction ( Bill Deminie installed our new patio door. He was very Professional, personable and did a excellent job. We would absolutely use Bill again. He is very affordable but more than that he did a great job especially since the patio door to be installed was on a brick house!"

Customers say: Quick response

Please understand that if you chose me to provide you with a estimate for services many times I am busy(owner operator) and there is no way to communicate my schedule to you without paying a lead fee to Home Advisor. For example, I may be able to provide estimates but not perform services for two weeks or longer.. Please be specific in your description of service needed. I appreciate your patience and I apologize if I do not respond within the 72 hour time limit. My goal is to remain a small company and provide outstanding service. Thank you! Update for service, as of 7/6/2020 I will be busy building a house and may only be available for small projects on rainy days.. \n

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Maintain smoke alarms, ensure safe electrical and cooking practices, and regularly clean chimneys to minimize fire or smoke hazards.

Yes, spider webs are flammable, taking them from minor household nuisance to something more dangerous. Silk boasts no built-in resistance to fire, though it takes an abundance of spider webs to actually catch fire and spread. A cobweb here and there poses no major fire safety risk, so it’s not a cause for concern.

Yes, it is generally safe to have a fire pit on a deck, but you must adhere to building codes and take several safety precautions. For both built-in and freestanding models, you must use a heat-resistant barrier, such as a fire pit pad or heat shield, between the pit and the deck. Additionally, consider the weight of the fire pit and ensure your deck can structurally support it, reinforcing it if necessary. The fire pit must also be positioned a safe distance from your house, particularly from materials like vinyl siding, to prevent heat damage.

Installing a spark arrestor on your home’s chimney is an essential task. It reduces fire risk and ensures your chimney is compliant for insurance and building code purposes. Not having a spark arrestor could invalidate your home insurance or cause snags when it comes to a house sale.

Home insurance prices depend on where you live and the individual insurance company's policies. Some insurers charge a flat fee for fireplaces or wood-burning stoves, which is often a few hundred dollars per year. Other insurers base this fee on a percentage of your annual premium. You may want to check your current or prospective policy before beginning this project.
