Kevin, the project consultant took the time to go over everything with us and provide samples to help us make our decision. Because of the coronavirus situation, materials took a longer than first quoted to come in and project was not started until a couple weeks later than was initially quoted. Again, though, extenuating circumstances. The crew were friendly and did a great job removing the old brick and putting up the stone exterior. Very pleased with the outcome! Have used them in the past for door installation and would definitely hire them again."

Yes, you can absolutely put a screen on a casement window, and most casement windows come with screens. Unlike with a double-hung, single-hung, or sliding window, the screen in a casement window sits on the inside of the window so that the sash can freely open outward. Screens are especially important for casement windows because the large window opening the window provides leaves your home more open to bugs and outside debris than most other types of operable windows.

Window screens are available in several standard sizes, such as 18 inches by 14 inches or 20 inches by 20 inches. You can also order custom screens to match a non-standard window. Keep in mind that screens don’t necessarily have to fit the entire window, so you may be able to insert a standard-size screen even if your window is slightly larger.

If you only need a small repair for your window screen, it’s likely more cost-effective to repair rather than replace it. However, if you have to make the same repairs to a hole in the screen, for example, then it may be worth replacing the screen altogether. On the other hand, if the cost to make repairs to the screens or frames exceeds 50% of the cost to replace, you may want to consider replacing the window screens in question.
