"KC Tree Service contacted me the day I listed my project and came by to give me a bid that evening. We set up to do the job the next morning around ten they showed up at eight o. 'clock and asked if they could go ahead and take care of mine first thing. They started in and by ten o'clock the branch was down loaded in their truck and my yard cleaned up. I was happy with the results and promptness of service."

"I used A&R for a good sized tree trimming project at my house. I needed climbers in an area that was not easy to access with heavy equipment. Armando and his crew were responsive, respectful of my property and the surrounding structures. They were on time and on budget. They cleaned up after the work was done, and did an excellent job with what I needed done. I would 100% use them again! Armando was professional, and you could tell he takes pride in his work."

Customers say: Terrific value

"Josh reached out the same day I submitted my request through Home Advisor and completed the work within two days after that point. He was knowledgeable, courteous, and professional, and he quoted a price that was less than half of the other pro who responded to my request. Josh was transparent regarding the work (and price) that needed to be completed and evaluated my foundation to make sure a sump pump installation was truly the appropriate fix to my problem. The work Josh and his crew completed was of the highest quality, but Josh also followed up the next time it rained to make sure the equipment was working as intended. I will be using Osborn Concrete for any/all future needs and would also recommend them to any individual or business looking for a contractor that works in concrete as well."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

On average, tree removal costs around $750, with a typical range between $200 and $2,000. The final price depends on several factors, including the tree's height, trunk diameter, species, and overall health. Accessibility is also a key factor; costs will be higher if the tree is in a hard-to-reach area or located near structures like power lines or your home. Additional costs may apply for services such as stump removal (which can add $100 to $150), log-splitting, debris cleanup, and obtaining necessary permits. It is also customary to tip the professional, usually between $20 and $100.

It’s not always easy to tell when a tree is dying, although signs like dropping branches and brittle bark can sometimes offer clues. It can also be difficult to know whether a tree is dead or dormant, especially if it’s a deciduous tree. You’ll want to wait until a growth season to get a good idea of a tree’s health. When in doubt, contact an arborist for a consultation.

It can be bad to leave a dead stump in the ground. A stump becomes a hefty piece of dead wood in time and eventually (especially with the help of rain) starts to rot. That makes it a locus point for diseases and pesky insects, as well as a bit of an eyesore. It’s best to remove a tree stump completely before it starts to decay, especially before it starts to fall apart. If the tree was removed because of disease, it’s even more important to fully remove the stump if possible.

Some trees, such as silver maples, birches, sycamores, and scotch pines, shed their bark naturally. If your tree is not one that does this, it might have fallen prey to pests, fungi, or diseases. It could also simply be suffering from an extreme weather change, such as a snowstorm or heat wave. If you’re still stumped, consulting with a pro can help you diagnose your tree’s specific problem.

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.
