"Fantastic job by Zane and his crew. I had them remove a tree more than 5 years ago and we were so impressed by his work ethic, manners, pricing and reliability, that we asked him to come back and take care of removing several of our trees. Just like last time, we are extremely happy with his work."

"They did a superior job. You do not have enough rating to give them. They did a very good job on cleaning up after themselves. Other than the bare spots on the trees where they took the limbs out, you could not even tell they were here."

"Two Friend's tree service it’s true to their word! They do an excellent job at a fair price which these days is something that’s hard to find. I’ve used them for all of my rental properties and my personal home. I would highly recommend them."

"Exceeded expectations in every way. Very knowledgeable about the 'why's' and source causes of issues and reads up to be extremely fluent before beginning work. This is hard to find, we've been through many tree services including the 'big' guys and highly reputable arborists. Cody blows them away. On top of his care and interest in the subject matter, he's very kind and communicates extremely well to set expectations and guide you through making the decisions that result in what you are trying to achieve. Can't recommend him enough. Will be using for all future work. A true gem."

"They did a good job, on time. The job was done on a rainy day, but that wasn't a problem. Very professional. If I have tree work in the future, I will definitely call Forest Keepers."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Stay inside or well away until the storm passes. Don’t go outside to inspect the tree until the weather clears, especially if the tree is on a hill or isolated in a field. Lightning often strikes the same easily-accessed places multiple times, and you could be a new target. If a lightning strike causes a noticeable fire, alert emergency services. When the storm is over, take a closer look to gauge the damage done.

Whether you should remove the roots of a dead tree depends on whether they’re damaging nearby areas. For instance, if the roots continue to grow near sidewalks, driveways, or the foundation of your home, they can cause damage. If you want to plant something else in that spot, removing the roots can make it easier for the new tree or plant to grow.

Tree experts don’t advise against digging through tree roots, but instead encourage caution and consultation with a local arborist to make sure you don’t damage the tree’s structure or interrupt its water or nutrient intake. An arborist can recommend specific practices when digging and help prune the roots or dig a trench for utilities with a tool that can remove soil without touching the tree’s roots.

It depends on the type of tree. Typically, late spring on the cusp of winter is ideal for trees about to emerge from dormancy and produce new buds. That said, late fall is ideal for certain deciduous trees prone to bleeding sap. Avoid trimming trees in early spring, when they’re prone to disease.

Using vinegar to kill tree roots is just one of the clever ways to use vinegar around the house. The method works best when you apply vinegar as directly to the root system as possible. For example, if the old tree roots and stump are currently exposed, drill holes in the tops of the roots and pour undiluted white vinegar into the holes to soak into the plant. Remember that vinegar can kill the surrounding grass and plants should it pour over the edge.
