"First called advised this was a production bay and could they send a tech out , 9 working days later they show up it was one of their openers so if it could be repaired i needed to use them or i would have went with another company. They showed up we’re on site 15 min stayed the problem was not the opener but coil system not right for the door . They put the system on years ago ? So left said a shop man would come by and ?????? the door . 6 days later I’m fed up had a local handy man come by a fix the door he took 10 minutes and it was working . He did not charge me said was a bad wire connection and i could return the favor someday. 1 day later they show up guy very nice apology for the technician he had sent out says it’s not the door the opener is 30 years old and should be replaced can do it for 950.00 i figured (my stupid) okay seems smart we need the door to be reliable. Okay . Exactly 2 weeks later i had forgot about him he shows up again apologizing says the new owners required a deposit (could have told me this earlier) i should have said forget it but no i give him a check. Then very promptly . 3 days later they show up it’s raining so the nice guy i am let them use my lift so they don’t have to unload theirs in the mud and finish the job by noon door works great did not need new coils ( surprise) bills me for the remainder i pay promptly except i provide a tax exempt legitimate from my state excluded the taxes. Then they bill me for the tax and called the state at least they say they did anyway wanted the tax paid so i did. They billed me for taxes on a jurisdiction that i am not in and to much now i was mad but I’m done with them so i paid it. A note to them i have 15 door openers all approaching the same age so i will no longer be calling them ."

We are a full service home improvement company currently employing seven full time installers two part time installers three fulltime salesmen three part time sales personel. All of these people are employees of our company, covered by our insurance policies, and not relying on yours. We only use sub-contractors for certain concrete or roofing applications and we make sure they carry all the insurance needed for your protection. We offer free estimates. Once an agreement for our services has been reached and a contract has been signed we ask for a downpayment of 25-30% of the job total. The balance is do upon completion of the job and final approval by the customer.

"The windows and gutters seem o.k. The siding is very noisy and is continually popping and creaking. The noise is very annoying. The original vinyl siding made NO noise and DID NOT pop and creak. When a piece of siding blew off the house, one could see how the siding was installed. Please refer to attached photo."

Garage Doors questions, answered by experts

It's best to use a silicone- or lithium-based lubricant since they're designed to deeply penetrate the door's components and provide long-lasting protection against wear and tear. Avoid using WD-40 and standard grease since they can potentially strip away existing lubrication or attract dust and dirt, respectively.

A garage only counts toward the official square footage of a house if it’s livable. The exact legal requirements for what’s considered living space can vary by location, but heating and ventilation are often required for it to be counted. If the garage is converted into an extra room, it may count toward the total square footage.

The best way to prevent your garage door from freezing is to install a permanent source of heat in the garage. You can have a professional tie in your main heating system or install a ductless mini split as a standalone heating solution. You can also insulate the garage to prevent temperatures from dropping to the point that the door freezes shut.

You should tune up your garage door at least once per year to keep it running smoothly. However, if you notice signs of wear and tear, it’s wise to get a tune-up every six months. Performing regular tune-ups can help you catch small issues before they turn into serious problems.

The cost to install a garage door is usually around $1,224, with most homeowners seeing a price between $755 and $1,696. Several factors come into play, like the type of door, material (wood is pricier than vinyl), insulation, and size. Labor costs also play a role because DIY garage door installs are a bad—and dangerous—idea. Most professionals bundle labor into the total price, but if it’s separate, expect to pay anywhere from $200 to $500.
